Chapter-34 Gone

"Raise and bow," I heard one of my ministers speak as I entered the crown room.

I have called of for an emergency meeting. After I spoke with Aurora, I realized that whoever that cult is, they want to destroy the peace of our kingdom and so far, they are doing that job nicely.

Hearing the news of our palace maid's death, all the workers were terribly afraid and so is the residents. Even though they didn't mention anything, the tension around the palace was too much. If I let it grow any further, it'll grow into an unbreakable chaos.

"Raise," I ordered sitting in my thrown. Few feet above the ground, with them standing beath my thrown. That should constantly remind them who holds the power.

I'm not a power loving person but over the period I understood that certain things are meant to be that way. Power makes people obey and it makes this kingdom run in peace.

"I assume all of you are aware with the news."

The ministers nodded their heads.

"If you have any theories about how those killers got hold of jasper wood, do proceed."

They looked at each other hoping someone would start. Scared bastards who conspire to take me down behind my back and in real is scared as mouse to open their mouth in front of me.

"Anyone?" I growled in my vampire authority. My voiced boomed across the room making them shiver in fear.

Like the Alpha wolf having authority, making other wolves submit to their command, us vampires have something similar too.

The royal family is the Alpha family and I king is their Alpha. Which is another reason why they couldn't do anything to me. I am their king and even though they hate it, their vampire side submits to me.

We vampires are the most loyal creatures and that makes it even harder for them to disobey me.

"We can recheck our royal stock your majesty," one of my ministers finally spoke.

I appreciate him starting first. But what he failed to realize that is that, I already started doing it.

People are currently recounting our stock so that we can rule out the option of one us being the traitor. I am their king for a reason, if he thinks one step, I would've already been ahead by ten steps.

I don't think there'll be a traitor among us. There's no way one of them would go against their own kind. They know that by doing so they are digging their own grave.

"Your majesty, sorry for the interruption," Victor entered the room.

With a nod from me, the guards let him in.

"Proceed," I ordered wanting him to tell the details in front of everyone. They should know that their king is already ahead of time.

The counting must've been over. That's why victor is here with the results.
