Recap

As he woke up he still remembered it all, his head was aching because of the amount of memories coming back all at once. He needed to find Luke and that quick.

Getting to Luke proved to be harder than expected. Nick still had all his memories, so I knew what town they used to live in, but he had no idea it was that far away.

He calculated it had been 9 months since everything happened. In a way it all made sense, why he could barely remember anything since high school, why his siblings always acted to weird around him, why his parents always sent him suspicious looks.

The knew about Luke, Luke was the reason he moved away in the first place. They found out and threw him out, told him to take his sins another place. So that's what he did. That would explain why they never told him another Luke.

The probably hoped he would never remember, get a girlfriend. Marry her, live a silent and safe life like they did. Not anymore though. He remembered everything as all he wanted was Luke.

So he he started on a roadtrip. It would take him hours to get to the town him and Luke used to live in. He wasn't even sure if Luke was there anymore. Anxious questions flew trough his mind at hyper speed.

What if Luke didn't live there anymore? What was he supposed to say? Did Luke miss him? Was he still mad about the argument? Had he moved on?

The what ifs built up to the point if the tears and he had to stop for a second to let the tears flow. His phone had become completely wrecked at some point. So he had no way of contacting Luke. All he had was his address, their address.

The small town looked so familiar as he drove trough it. The sunset was to his left giving it all a soft, delicate vibe. That was until he stopped outside his old house. Was it even his? Could he call it that? Like Luke said it was his house after all, not theirs, not yet.

He went up to the front door knocking quietly at first. He needed time to think of his words. Did he just say hi? How could he explain to Luke what had happened? Would he even get the time? Would Luke be happy to see him.

He tried knocking again, a little harder this time. They said for about a year they would get a doorbell, turns out Luke hadn't gotten that far yet.

When no one answered he tried knocking again, before sitting down on the porch, if Luke was still in his old job he worked late. He wouldn't be home until in least an hour, but Nick waited. He was not passing the opportunity because he was bored. This was Luke after all, Luke was worth everything.

His eyes started slowly dropping after some time. He had been awake since 4am, it was his only hope of going on the trip without any persuading words from his parents.  Soon he fell asleep leaning against the door Luke always got mad at him for slamming.

Nick was woken up by tires on gravel later that night. He wished he hadn't fallen asleep on a strangers doorstep in this weather. It was cold, the thin jacket he wore didn't help a lot in the cold September weather.

He stood up as Luke got out of the car. He stepped down so he too stood in the gravel too. "What...." Luke asked, but it didn't sound like a question.

Nick took a small step forwards, when Luke didn't step away he took another and another and another. It felt like closing the distance between them took decades. For every step Nick took he was taking three steps backwards.

He finally reached Luke it was weird. He was still looking up at him, the same height as 9 months ago. Yet everything else had changed. Luke was looking at him bewildered, like he wasn't believing what he saw in front of him.

Luke reached out and put his hand on Nick's cheek. The hand was warm against his cold cheeks, almost burning. Yet he didn't pull away. "It's really you..." Luke was tearing up. Nick put his hand over Luke's, leaning into it. He nodded his sight getting blurry by tears, he could barely breathe.

"You're freezing, let's get you inside" Luke said he took of his jacket and put it over Nick's shoulder. He held him tight, as if Nick would slip away again if he let go.

"Sit down in the living room I'll get you something to drink" Luke left him in the hall and Nick did as he was told. The living room was almost the same. The couch stood in the same place, the TV was still cracked after the time they played with their wii and Nick accidentally chucked his controller into the TV.

The usual mess was still there, maybe even a little bit worse than normal, but the whole living room lacked personality. It used to have loads of pictures of them together, but they were all gone except for one.

They also had lego builds the did together that was gone. Every bit of the room that had been them was gone and he couldn't help, but blame himself. Luke came back a few minutes later with hot cocoa and blankets for Nick. "Thanks" he said as Nick handed him the mug of deliciousness.

________

They sat there and talked for what felt like hours. Nick told Luke about everything that happened after he left that night, and in return Luke told Nick about what happened with him.

Apparently he had regretted everything right after he said it, but hoped Nick would come back after some time to cool down, but the. Nick never came home. He was nervous already the second day, when a week had passed he finally called Nick's parents.

They had reassured him Nick was fine, but didn't want to talk to him. They also told him they would call back whenever Nick felt like it, so Luke went around waiting and waiting. He tried calling Nick's parents many many times, but they didn't pick up.

At that point Luke was properly messed up. He felt like he had really hurt Nick to the point of no return. Luckily he had his friends to pull him out of bad place he was in to the point where he was a functioning human being.

That's why the living room was so empty, they had taken everything that made the room what it was and stored it in boxes in Nick's old garage that Luke hadn't opened ever since.

They laid on the couch, Nick in front of Luke as they were watching friends. "I missed you" Luke mumbled into Nick's neck. "I missed you too, I hope that I never have to be without you again" Nick said.

"I love you" Luke pressed a kiss into the others neck. "I love you" Nick said and drifted into sleep.

(Srry bout the typo wrote this with absolutely no brain power)

Started school today, and for like the first time in my life I've been faced with this. Idk if I like you (platonically) or think you're an asshole dilemma. Like there's this new kid, and he's funny (sometimes) and pretty cool, but then again he called being gay "a belief" so I'm not so sure
