Shadow then stopped as Kazuma said to stop pranking them. He then gave a hearty laugh as he reverted back to a human form, almost becoming a splitting image of Y/n.

" You were trying to do that as payback weren't you? " Kazuma asked blankly and Shadow just stuck his tongue out and jumped out of the water playfully.

Shadow: *raises a signboard playfully* Konosuba!

1 hour before Kazuma's Party returns
Axel Town

" Finally we are here! Yahoo!!!! " Y/n shouted as the two finally got to the town's entrance. " Can't wait to show Kazuma what I got! Thanks for accompanying me by the way Wiz. " Y/n said as he rushed towards the tavern after giving her the payment for accompanying him.

" Uhhh, Y/n I- " Wiz was about to say that she didn't need to be paid but Y/n was overly excited to return to the tavern to see Kazuma. She giggled at the sight of him being excited to go back and went to her shop.

" Yo, Kazuma! " Y/n said as he opened the tavern door, only to see that he is not there. " Uhhhh..... Kazu-senpai? " he wondered as he wandered around the guild.

" Are you looking for Kazuma? " the blonde receptionist lady asked as Y/n nodded. " They went to a quest a while ago when you were gone. They should be returning now. " she said and Y/n zoomed off to the town entrance to wait for them.

" By the way, how do we tell Y/n about this? " Kazuma asked Griffon. " We could say that Brutal Alligators tried to attack her during the purification quest. Well, due to his motherly instincts, expect that the whole alligator species are dead with Mirage Edge stuck on their heads once he gets a chance to get near them. " the avian demon said.

" So it's best not to tell Y/n that. " Megumin said to the two.

" Best to not tell me what? What happened to Aqua? " Y/n said which made the whole party scream, except Aqua. " Well the Brutal Alligators attacked the cage and scared Aqua to the very core while she did a purification quest. There weren't any physical injuries but mental, there i- oh crap I cannot shut my mouth when I'm scared. " Kazuma said and Y/n sighed, and just smiled.

" Well... I'll try to make Aqua go back to normal later. In the meantime, we should get her out. " Y/n said in a slight cheery tone. " No... I'm fine here. The cage is my sanctuary, papa. The world outside the cage is scary. " Aqua said as Y/n was shocked to how traumatized she was.

" Okay.... She is easy to be mentally scarred. " Y/n said as he tried to get Aqua out and carried her on his back. She didn't retaliate as she felt safe and wrapped her arms around Y/n.

Aqua: *with a dead inside expression* Konosuba.

" Oi, Aqua, snap out your trance already. I'm here so there's no need for you to be like that. " Y/n said in a concerned manner as he sighed. " By the way, how was Aqua during the times I was away? " he asked Kazuma as they went back to the guild.

" She's very childish. Also, if she says that I gave her a little bit of allowance, it's because she couldn't get enough sales on the croquettes she sells at work. " he answered.

" Goddess-sama! " a voice had called out and rushed at Aqua, but both Darkness and Y/n stopped him. " Hey, don't touch our ally so freely. Who are you? " she said as she held the man in blue armor.
