Simon
Baz really just did that.
And it wasn't even a joke... he really just did that.
I look at him and his wide smile as he struggles to keep the duck still in his hands, while the chick tweets in a corner.
"When I said that I wanted a chick and a duck... I DIDN'T MEAN IT LITERALLY BAZ!"
Crowley, I never thought he'd go out and genuinely get me pets! Maybe watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. with him last night was not the best decision.
It started with me raving about how it was just about the best American sitcom to exist and dragging his reluctant arse to the sofa with me- and ended with me falling asleep and him staying up all night finishing the first 2 or 3 seasons.
When I woke up, he had the episode with the chick and the duck running with empty sugar packets and coffee mugs in front of him.
"Okay, so, maybe you were right, Snow. This is bloody terrific!" He sounded exhilarated.
I looked at the screen and then back at him, "Those birds look cute, I would surely love to have them too."
I grinned and his eyes lit up as he returned my grin.
"Well, you should have said so!!" He panics as the duck tries to take flight.
"I-" Okay, the birds were cute and he looked so happy gifting them to me.
"Come on, you can't be mad at them," he shoves the duck into my face as it bursts my ears with its noises.
"Alright, alright! Merlin, Baz!" I break out in laughter, going over to pick up the chick.
"They are cute," The chick nuzzles itself in my hand.
"Aren't they! They're just the sweetest, smallest, fuzziest, cutest-"
I don't hear what he says further- probably more adjectives that one would use not just for animals, but humans too.
I'm too busy looking at the pure joy on his face. He really should smile more, and this side of his that I was meeting for the first time was bloody attractive. I continue to stare at him going on with his endless description which I don't catch much of- I think I hear the word 'sexy' ?- he looks angelic right now.
He's almost as happy as he was in that picture I had seen of him, in the Mage's office. I bury away that memory- it has more bad ones attached to it than good.
"... fuzzy-wuzzy creatures ever!" He finally finishes and I realise I haven't said a word yet, nor made any expressions to express my excitement.
"Are you alright, Snow?"
"Better than ever. Fucking perfect, actually." I give him my brightest, most genuine smile.
He returns it with about a hundred times greater spark and we both look back at the birds in our hands.
"So..." I alternately glance at him, the duck and then the chick, "What are we naming them?"
