His hand is now ablaze, catching at the tips of his shirt cuffs and licking its way towards the letter.

I wait, letting the air around us turn from breathable to borderline suffocating, "You love me."

Baz

"You love me." He muttered unblinkingly.

"You love me!" His voice kept rising as the gears in his head visibly turned, connecting the dots.

"Don't you dare-" A flash of gold and red erupted on my side and it finally came to my awareness that I was burning my letter.

Bloody hell, I was burning.

"But, you- I- Me- You don't hate me!" He was a sputtering mess and I couldn't help but find it adorable. Disgusting.

"Then why would you literally make my life hell?!" He didn't seem angry at all. Instead, he looked sort of amused.

"You love me..." A slight smile spread across his face- well, that was unexpected.

I can feel the heat trapezing over my skin, burning through the thin fabric of my shirt but I don't flinch. Snow knows I love him, I may as well die and it won't matter.

A disgrace, that's what they'll call me. I have already brought enough shame to the family by being what I am. No one even talks about that day anymore. I really wish they would.

"Baz, you're- you're on fire!" He frantically pulls at my hands, trying to pat down the flames.

"I don't care, Snow! You had no business reading any of this! I have no option but to get rid of this now and I don't give a flying fuck if it means burning myself down too!"

Okay, maybe I am being too dramatic, I could have just burned the paper. But then, what am I, if not extravagant?

"Baz, I'm sorry! Just- STOP!"

I stared past him, unwilling to meet his eyes.

"Just-" He looked shit-scared. Good, he deserved it.

"Stop it." His voice faltered and he was tugging at my arms.

"Fine." I urged the fire to die down, it was tiring, but I managed it.

His face exhibited an expression which could only be read as "Thank you for that and making me have a near heart attack".

"Now what, you want to laugh at me? Go ahead. Want to blabber about it to Bunce, do it. I don't even care anymore."

I cared, I did.

I throw the letter at his feet and head back to the Mummer's House. He'll probably jump at the chance to ruin my life, won't he?

I nearly reach the tower when I hear footsteps behind me and then I'm turned around by his outstretched hand. He's panting and the letter is a crumpled ball in his hand.

"No, I don't want any of that. Just- burn it, here."

He hands me the ball and I light it up without second thought. It's better gone.

"Now," he hooks his fingers to my wrists, taking me back to our room.

What was happening?

What was he doing?

Why was he doing this?

He wasn't speaking and neither was I. I wasn't protesting against his light grip either.

We reached to our door and he opened it, taking me along to sit with him on his bed. What was he doing?

"Now, " he lets go of my hand, " you said in that letter, you had so much to say. Well, then, go ahead."

I stared at his blank expression, his wide eyes, his perked up posture- I was definitely about to break and say everything I have ever thought about him.  He blinked a few times, probably wondering why I had turned to stone.

"I'm listening, Baz."

He was listening.
