B- burns

the intelligence team was working on a very intense case and they were about to search a warehouse Hailey was with jay, Adam with Kim and Kevin with Voight.

Hailey and Jay were all walking slowly through this warehouse they had come across two different rooms they signalled to each other that they were going to split up and go into the rooms.

Jay had taken the left room which was quite large it wasn't like a big square it had lots of different gaps so the suspect could hide from how the room was stayed out. he was checking each little gap when he came across one he had his gun up ready for if anyone was there to shoot but he was too late.

the suspected came out from the shadows and through some kind of liquid onto his left shoulder and neck and ran off.

when this liquid touched Jay's skin he instantly dropped the floor and let out a painful scream that alerted Hailey who was in the other room.

"Jay Jay you okay," Hailey said running into the room.

Jay shook his head unable to talk from the pain. Hailey called for an ambulance to come to their location which got the rest of the team's attention and they went to find the two partners.

"Hey Jay what happens can you try and tell me where it hurts," Hailey said in a calm =in voice.

Jay pointed to his neck and shoulder and say that it was like an acid burn.

"oh, shit," she said and shouted into her two way for the team to bring bottles of water for the acid burn.

Voight then ran in with Kevin beside him.

"what the hell happened," Voight asked.

"We split up and I heard a scream I come in and it seems that the suspect threw acid on Jay or something," she said trying to get his shirt off.

"where did it hit him," Kevin asked.

"neck and shoulder," she said. Adam and Kim then ran in with water and some paramedics behind them with a stretcher.

He instantly got to work trying to clean his injuries and was then transported into the ambulance.

"I am coming with you," Haily said getting into the back of the ambulance.

whilst on the way to med, the paramedics were putting water onto his injuries as he moved around in pain.

"hey you will be fine," Hailey said grabbing onto his hand trying to give him some kind of comfort.

when they arrived at med the paramedic was giving the information to dr Choi who was going to treat Jay.

Hailey was stood outside of his room watching as the nurses treated Jay.

"Hey Hailey go sit into the waiting room he is going into surgery In a minute for skin grafts so there isn't any point standing out here," Maggie said who was standing behind Hailey who nodded her head walking into the waiting room where the team was.

"How is he," Voight asked.

"in pain, they said they are going to take him to get skin grafts or something," she said looking defeated.

"hey he is going to be okay," Kevin said.

"I know but he was in so much pain he looked at me like he was begging me to take the pain away from him," she said sitting down.

they last down until about ten minutes later Will walked in the waiting room and over to us.

"Voight what happened," he said.

"We were looking for a suspected in an abandoned building and he came out from behind a wall and through acid at Jay," he said.

"you get the guy," he asked.

"yeh patrol picked him up when they were transporting Jay here," Ruzek said and Will nodded.

"he gonna be okay," Kim asked.

"yeah he is in surgery but hell is okay," Will said sitting next to Hailey.

it had been about an hour and Dr Choi walked towards the team and Will.

"so Jay is doing great surgery went amazingly nothing too drastic he will have some scars from the acid burn but nothing much he will need about 2 weeks before even thinking of coming into work then another week on desk duty if everything is ok," he said.

"can we see him,"  Hailey asked?

"yeh but I do warn you he has just woken up and is a bit groggy from the meds," he said and asked them to follow him to Jay's room, they all walked in to see jay looking very tired.

"Hey bud," Will said.

"When can I go home I don't like these gowns," he asked straight away causing the team to laugh.

"Hello to you to Jay, no you can not leave but we can sort that gown issue," he said going over to the edge of his bed.

"how Jay said rubbing his eye tiredly.

"well I will take this gown off and you can just be in your boxers until we grab your clothes," Will said taking it off showing his bandaged neck and shoulder and throwing the gown in the disposal.

"you happy now," Hailey asked him and he nodded rubbing his eyes again.

"sleep you tired," Kim said.

"I'm fine," he said still rubbing his eyes.

it was a couple of minutes later Will and the team left to go home except Hailey. Jay became more and more tired and his eyes were droopy.

"go to sleep," she said sitting on the edge of his bed.

"I'm fine," he said then yawned.

"I don't believe you I'm not leaving so sleep," Haley told him firmly and he gave in and closed his eyes and got comfy.

after a while he was in a deep sleep letting out tiny snores barely heard, Hailey moved his blanket over above his stomach to his shoulders and then walked out leaving him to rest closing to doors behind her.

*three weeks later*

Jay was finally back to work but only on desk duty during his recovery hie had a little setback but nothing too major he was still his annoying ass causing both Hailey and Will pain about when he could go back to work.
