Jay Halstead Whump A-Z

Y- yellow fever

both Hailey and Jay had just back from their honeymoon about a week ago from the Caribbean. and they were going back to work today. currently, there were in the car on their way in after getting coffee.

as they walked into the district they were greeted by Platt "hey lovebirds welcome back" 

"hey, Platt" they both said and walked up the stairs.

"wow look at you two you both got a tan dam I'm jealous," Adam said with a coffee cup in his hand going back to sit in his chair.

"wow missed you two adam," Jay said as he sat down and Hailey just laughed.

just as they sat down they were greeted with a heavy murder case which consumed their day and they all were running around like headless chickens.

it was around 6 pm they started to feel off he didn't know how to explain it but he just thought it was from coming back to work and being so busy so he pushed it aside.

they made it home after a long day around 10 pm Jay didn't feel any better but felt worse and Hailey noticed something was off. they both got showered and Jay just got out of the shower when she asked "hey you ok you seem a bit off this last couple of hours"

"I don't know I think it's just from going back to work and being so busy," he said drying himself and putting some boxers on.

"why how are you feeling," she asked.

"everything just aches and I feel just disgusting I don't know how to explain it," he said getting into bed.

hailey put a hand on his forehead and it felt quite hot "I think you have a fever give me a second" she said and walked into the bathroom and walked back out with some niquill and a thermometer.

she put it on his head and he had a fever but it was not too worrying. 

"It's not that bad to take that I'm gonna get you some water," she said going into the kitchen. she came back with a bottle of water and handed it to him.

"Thanks, babe," he said drinking the water.

"you might just need to sleep it off i'll check on you in the morning," she said and he nodded falling asleep.

they both slept through the night and woke up at 6 am. Hailey turned over to feel Jay's forehead and it was a lot warmer than last night.

"Jay wakes up," she said and turned the light on and took his temp as he was starting. his temp was 104.

"shit" she cursed.

"I don't feel so good babe," he said turning over.

"I know come on I'm gonna call you an ambulance," she said grabbing her phone and calling the ambulance and also trying to get close to him.

once the paramedics came they took jay to me to see what was going on.

they took him to get some tests done whilst Hailey called both Will and Voight to let them know what was going on as she waited for a doctor to come to see her.

after about 20 minutes then came through to talk to her

"so we took some tests on jay and it shows he has yellow fever" he said.

"what," she said.

"yeh I know it's not as bad as we were expecting and it might take a couple of days for him to leave the hospital since we will have to monitor him but we will also have to take you for a test since you were with him and in the same country as him, we need to know if you have it," he said.

hailey agreed and they went through to get her a blood test after 30 minutes she tested negative and was in the clear so she went to go see Jay who was given fluids to keep him hydrated but he looked better than when he first came in.

and as planned he stayed at med for a week until he was able to go home and was back to his normal self with no side effects thank God.
