Rheumatoid arthritis or RA is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease, which means that your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake, causing inflammation (painful swelling) in the affected parts of the body.
RA mainly attacks the joints, usually many joints at once. RA commonly affects joints in the hands, wrists, and knees. In a joint with RA, the lining of the joint becomes inflamed, causing damage to joint tissue. This tissue damage can cause long-lasting or chronic pain, unsteadiness (lack of balance), and deformity (misshapenness).
RA can also affect other tissues throughout the body and cause problems in organs such as the lungs, heart, and eyes.
Jay never heard of RA until his doctor mentioned it at his last appointment, it had been a month since he got shot and was a check-up for that but then the doctor mentions that Jay was showing a lot of symptoms of RA and the doctor also mentioned it was rare that a person like Jay could get it but they said it would most likely be genetics.
6 months after that appointment there had been non-stop checking to see how rapid it was happening the doctor started Jay on some medication to treat the RA Jay wasn't on the bad side of the disease and was very fortunate. but since then it made Jay's job life very difficult and nobody liked it. he was on desk duty quite a lot.
they were all sitting in the office doing paperwork when jay got up looking like shit and walked into the locker room and Hailey walked in after him from the breakroom.
"what's going on babe," she asked following him.
"bad day" he replied.
"you wanna go home we have both finished we could go cuddle in bed" she offered and he nodded.
they grabbed their stuff and drove home once they arrived home they both showered and got into bed and turned on the TV.
"I love you," he said out of the blue.
"I love you more," she said looking down at him as he was laying on her stomach.
they both went back to the tv and Hailey started to rub her finger through his hair. they sat there as they were watching tv and Hailey noticed that Jay was riggling about.
"you okay Jay," she asked.
he turned to face her as he was still in her lap and he nodded.
"what you riggling for," she asked.
he shrugged and moved so he was off her and laid flat on his stomach.
"tried" he mumbled.
Hailey instantly turned the tv off and snuggled up to him. they both laid there until Jay slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep. Hailey smiled a little and then fell asleep after Jay.
