Jay Halstead Whump A-Z

I-insomnia

if anyone has insomnia they would know it is a pain in the ass. Jay's insomnia was an on and off situation ever since he was like seven and as he got older especially now with such demanding jobs like intelligence it got hard hen insomnia became a problem because he was then tired through the day and that was not good at all.

when Hailey first started intelligence and Jay and she got closer she found out about his insomnia and she made him promise that he would go to hers when it is happening so she could try to help since she has insomnia.

he took her advice and went over to hers it was rare but it happened.

it was about 3 in the morning and Jay had had enough he tried everything that he could think of to try and get himself to sleep. went for a run, did yoga, read, watch tv, counted sheep everything and nothing worked so he got out of bed got some sweats on a big coat his shoes and walked out of his apartment into his car and made his way over to Haileys.

he knocked on her door and it only took her a couple of minutes to answer she looks like she just woke up with her blonde here messy and droopy eyes.

"Sorry I woke you," he said feeling guilty.

"Hey, it is fine," she said letting him in and he took his shoes and coat off and followed Hailey into the kitchen where she was making tea.

after she grabbed the two cups and said "come on we are going to try to get you to sleep" she said handing him his tea and made his way to her bedroom.

they both got into bed and Hailey turned on some family guy and they drank their tea.

"thank you," Jay said out of the blue.

"Why are you saying that," she asked.

"because you are helping me sleep and that hasn't happened in a long time," he said.

"what was Will or Erin not able to," she asked and he shook his head no.

"the one person that has always been able to help me sleep was my mum, not Will or my dad just my mum and nobody knew why it was just her but she used to tell me that the one person you trust and love with everything in you will be able to," he said.

"When did she tell you that," she asked.

"before she died and she said that if you find someone that can help you sleep when you can that is your soulmate right there," he said smiling.

"now I know where you got this amazing personality from," Hailey said.

"she would have loved you," he said.

"I would as well I need to thank her for raising such an amazing son even if he is a stubborn and sassy little shit sometimes" Hailey laughed.

"you love that part of me," he said and she nodded 

it only took then like ten minutes to finish the episode and they were laid down curled up next to each other and Hailey looked towards Jay to see him completely asleep she smiled and turned the tv off and snuggled into Jay falling into a deep sleep.
