Victoria's POV

I had woken up with my blankets thrown everywhere and me somehow flipped, my feet at pillows, and my head at the foot of the bed.

Groaning, I sat up. I felt a little better, but I was still achy. Especially my thighs and hips and that whole area down there. "I guess August did grip me a little too hard." I mumbled to myself, pushing myself off the bed.

A wave of nausea hit me and I held my stomach with one hand, and plastered another over my mouth, running to the bathroom. I barely made it to the toilet before the contents from dinner came out of my mouth and I dry heaved.

I guess I was barfing too loud, because footsteps came in and a hand was on my back. "Okay. Deep breaths." Dad soothed, rubbing circles on my back as I finished my dry heaving and sat back on my heels. As I wiped my mouth with a hand, dad flushed the toilet and helped me stand. "I guess you ate too much, huh, butterfly?" Dad asked as he closed the toilet lid and had me sit. I just nodded, watching him grab my toothbrush from the holder and put some toothpaste on it and handed it to me so I could brush my teeth.

I brushed for a moment and then spit out the paste and turned the sink on to rinse out my mouth. But as I finished, there was a knock at the door and a faint pine tree scent came wafting through the house. I forgot August could feel what I was feeling. Guess he noticed I was nauseous.

"I'll get it, butterfly." Dad said and left my bathroom before I plopped back down on the toilet seat. I still felt nauseous, but at least I wasn't dry heaving anymore. I closed my eyes as I heard dad's and August's voice, barely audible. But it was definitely August's. Then footsteps.

"Hey." August whispered. I opened my eyes and he was kneeling in front of me, with my one hand in his. "You sick?" He asked. I nodded and closed my eyes again. "I'm achy, I'm nauseous, I'm still tired. But I slept forever." I mumbled.

August put a hand on my cheek. "Do you want me to take you to see the doctor?" He asked but I shook my head no. "I think it's just a stomach bug. I should be fine, soon." I sighed, leaning over and putting my head on his shoulder. "But I'm worried, love. Maybe it could be more than a stomach bug."

I chuckled through my pain at him and the nickname he gave me. "If it will make you feel better, then fine. What time is it?" I asked as August stood up and helped me stand. "It's like 9:45pm. But hopefully it isn't too late for him to check you out."

I had met the pack doctor once in my life. And that was when I broke my wrist and it wasn't healing right and he had to wrap it up for me for a week and a half until it fully healed. He was a middle aged man, probably around dad's age. With dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and maybe an inch or two shorter than dad. He had wrinkles all over his face, though, and a big nose, in my opinion.

August took my hand in his and helped me walk down the hallway and down the stairs. "I'm going to see if Dr. Williams can check her out." August said as we got to the bottom of the stairs. I looked up and he was talking dad.

Dad looked down at me and reached over to touch my forehead. "She isn't running a fever. At least from what I can tell." He said, moving his hand to feel my neck. Then sighed and dropped it. "But if you think she needs to, just to be safe."

"I'd really enjoy if you didn't talk about me like I wasn't here or if I was 4." I whined. Both of them looked at me but said nothing.

"Well. Maybe just get checked out, butterfly. See what's going on. If he sees it's just a stomach bug, then great. But I'd rather be safe than sorry." Dad said, giving me a worried look. I just rolled my eyes.

"Come on, then." I mumbled, pulling August out of the house. We walked in silence on the way to the pack hospital and walked in.

There sat a little petite girl, probably around August's age at the receptionist table. She looked up at us and smiled. "Hi, Alpha!" She giggled. A pang of jealousy struck me in my chest and I pouted. August must've felt it because he immediately looked at me and wrapped his arm around me.
