August's POV

I can't fucking believe Victoria is pregnant. And with two fucking babies.

We were back at my house, in the living room, and I was pacing. Victoria was on the couch. We hadn't said anything since we got back here. I was too pissed to say anything.

"Can you please sit down? Seeing you pace like that is tiring." Victoria said, looking like she was in a daze. Probably from the news and it being 11pm, already. I stopped my pacing and groaned. "I can't think straight when I'm sitting." I almost hissed. But I complied with her wishes and sat down next to her on the couch.

Victoria instantly set her head on my shoulder, starting to fall asleep. I wrapped an arm around her and held her close. "I can't believe you're pregnant." I mumbled, more to myself than to her, and setting a hand on her stomach. She set her hand over mine. "I can't either. But I am." She yawned.

I wasn't mad at her. It wasn't her fault that she ended up pregnant. I was mad at myself. I didn't do anything to prevent it and now I got my young mate pregnant. As much as she wanted to believe she was mature enough, I knew deep down, Victoria was still young at heart. And she hadn't even turned 20 yet. She should be doing whatever people at her age do and have a life. And not have to worry about being a mother so soon. I'm not much older, though. And I'm now going to be a father.

"We won't be alone in this." She said, not looking up at me. Probably because she was still sleepy. "We got dad, too. He said he was willing to help."

I sighed, not responding. I wonder how her dad feels about all of this. He didn't necessarily like me to begin with. Even after my father died and I became alpha and him and I started working together since he's beta. And now I got his only daughter, his only kid in general, pregnant at 19. Granted, people as young as 17 can find mates and usually within the first year the girl ends up pregnant.

"What are you hoping for?" I asked her, gently pulling her closer. She shrugged. "I want a girl and a boy." She said, intertwining our fingers that were on her belly. "I've always wanted a brother. To play with and joke around with. So I'm hoping that we have one of each. If not, it's okay, too. Maybe we could always try again, sooner or later."

I raised my eyebrows, even though she wasn't looking at my face. "Later rather than sooner, right?" I asked. All she did was chuckle. "I mean, sure. Since we're having twins. But unless we try and prevent getting me pregnant again, it might happen sooner rather than later."

I don't think I'd be able to handle kids back to back like that. Especially when within the first year of life, pups can grow up to 5 times faster than a normal newborn human child. And by the time they reach toddler size, that's when they grow normally.

"I don't think I'd be able to care for two toddlers and then more babies right away." I sighed, kissing the side of Victoria's head. She giggled at the gesture but immediately yawned. "Okay." I said, standing and helping her stand. "I think it's bedtime." I said and led her down the hallway and to my room. She nodded and just followed.
