Victoria's POV

I was discharged from the pack hospital and back at home at about 7. The twins were peacefully sleeping in their cribs in the nursery after being fed and a diaper change. And August was, too, sleeping, on the couch, snoring his happy, little hiney away.

I still had that kid on my mind. He must've been a rogue because no one has recognized who he was. But the thought of him asking August to ask me who he was still lingered in the back of my mind.

So, since everyone in the house was sleeping, but me, I decided to sneak out and find my way to the pack jail. Which didn't take too long since it was right next to August and I's home. Didn't know why, but at least it was close.

There were two tall, dark skinned warriors standing guard in front. They smelled like dirt and sweat and if it weren't for their scent and the occasional rise of their shirtless, chiseled chests, I would've assumed they were statues.

I nodded towards one, and tried slipping by. But they both stepped out in front of me to make me stop. "I'm sorry, Luna." The one to my left said. He was the taller one of the pair. His skin looked like mocha, with matching colored eyes and dark brown hair. The other had slightly lighter skin, black eyes, and black hair.

"We have strict rules from the Alpha that no one but him is allowed to visit the prisoner." The other said. I glared at them. "I can also tell the Alpha that you disobeyed your Luna and have you both in one of those cells behind you." I growled, and rolling my shoulders back and puffed out my chest, to make myself look bigger. But they didn't budge. "We're sorry, Luna. Strict orders from the Alpha." The shorter one said. "And with just having your pups, we don't want you more hurt."

I crossed my arms over my chest. "So you do want August out here, don't you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "And you do want me to tell him that you didn't listen to someone above you, right?" I asked them, stepping forward. They took a step back. "August may have his rules about what he wants and what some can and can't do, but he is WAY worse when someone disobeys authority around here. I should know. I've seen it. So, if you don't want a man who's twice your size, in both muscle and height, to come beat you both senseless for disobeying me, your Luna, you will let me in. Because when it comes to his mate, and the mother of his pups, he will take my side over yours. No questions asked."

They both gave each other a look before stepping out of my way. "That's what I thought." I mumbled, dropping my arms before walking in.

There sat the blonde haired, little punk on his bunk, behind bars and picking at his fingernails. He paid no mind to me. "Who are you?" I asked, coming to the bars. He looked up at me, gave me a bored look, and looked back at his nails. "Like you'd want to know." He asked in a sass tone. I scoffed. "You definitely are asking for something, aren't you?" I growled. "You first break into my home, then attack my mate and tried to attack me and my unborn children, and now you have the nerve to talk to me that way? Just answer the damn question, you stupid rogue."

He chuckled before looking back up at me. "If you'd so like to know, Luna," He spat and stood up. "My name is Travis Maine." He said, and came up close to the bars. "If that's what you wanted."

I glared at him. "Why'd you tell my mate I knew you?" I asked, taking a step back and crossed my arms over my chest. He just shrugged and sat back down on his bed. "To throw him off, I guess." He shrugged again.

"Why'd you come and attack us?"

"Like you'd wanna know."

"That's why I'm ASKING!" I yelled the last word at him. Which made him jump, even me, a little as well. "You hurt my mate, and you think you are so high and mighty. What the hell did he even do to you? Huh? You stupid, little, annoying brat! You will loathe when the day comes I get to rip you apart like you almost did to my mate."

He just gave me a terrified look and cowered away from me. I knew behind his facade, was just a scared, little boy.

"So answer my question!"

"Fine!" He cried, taking a deep breath like he wasn't breathing for a second. "I lived in this pack a really long time ago. I was 6. My parents died and the old alpha didn't know what to do with me. Your stupid mate told him to send me away to a pack close by. And they didn't want me either. Causing me to become a rogue. I spent the last decade trying to live off of small shit I could find until I stumbled back here and saw you and that bitch of a man you call a boyfriend! He was the one who ultimately got me into this situation! That fucker. So I wanted revenge. Wanted to make him feel the pain I have the last 10 years!"

"Victoria! What in the Goddess' name are you doing in here?!" A voice boomed through the building. Both Travis and I looked over, and a very angry August stormed in, his one arm still in the sling. "You are so damn lucky he didn't get out. I swear-"

He stopped his rant and looked at a weeping Travis. "What you say to him?" He asked, softer now. "I kind of yelled?" I asked in more of a question than an answer. "And I just got here. So..."

August just shook his head and wrapped his good arm around me. "Just come on." He mumbled, pulling me away from the cell and out of the building. But not before he glared at the warriors, who looked like they were almost shaking in fear.

We walked the 45 seconds it would take to get to our house in silence. But before we walked in, he pulled me into him and was almost sniffing me. "Never, ever, do that again. You scared the living shit out of me." He whispered. He pulls back and kissed me, hard. Then moved to kiss down my jaw and neck.

I instinctively moaned, moving to give him more room to kiss. "August." I whimpered in pleasure, pulling on his shirt to get him closer. But the front door opened and I automatically unglued from him.

An irritated dad stood there, holding Emmalynne in his arms. "You two do realize you have kids, now, right?" He asked, giving me my daughter and then left. I just looked up at August and he shrugged.
