Victoria

I spent almost a week practically locked in my house by my dad. Because he was worried that if I left the house, I'd get in trouble with August again. I didn't like being stuck inside, but I guess it was fair, since I didn't want to see him. Just because August was the Alpha and was supposedly my mate, didn't mean I HAD to see him.

"Hey, Tori. I'm going to go over to the pack grocer to get some things for dinner tonight. Do you need anything?" My father asked me, as I came down the stairs from my room and into the kitchen. "Um. No. I don't. But I'll go for you." I offered, as I put my hair into a ponytail. But he gave me a look. That was a mix of a 'no' look and a 'are you serious' look. "Daddy." I groaned and stomped like a little kid. "I need to get out of the house! I promise I'll be nice if I see August." I pout, giving him puppy dog eyes.

Dad sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose before turning to grab his list and handed it to me. "There and back Victoria Fay. Understood?" He asked me as I grabbed the list. I nodded and smiled. "Thanks, daddy!" I giggled a little before running out of the house.

But I was halfway to the grocer before I looked over and I saw August and an Elder walking in my general direction. August caught my gaze and he stopped talking to the Elder and his eyes darkened. His lips mumbled an 'excuse me' to the Elder before walking faster to get to me.

I tried walking faster but August did catch up to me and gripped my arm. He was hurting me and I tried pulling away. But August ignored my attempts and just gripped my arm harder and led me over to the grocer.

"I hope you're not purposefully trying to annoy me, Victoria." He growled, baring his teeth to me. I mocked him. "I'm not. I was just picking up some food for my dad. Who just so happens to be your beta. So, I don't want to hear you complain."

He lowly growled at me again. I tsked. "As the alpha talking to his mate, you really seem to be grumpy with me. I thought you were supposed to be nice to me." I said, fake pouting. August just rolled his eyes at me. "You're lucky you are." He said before walking away and leaving me at the grocer.
