We kept on running until we reached the coast and then, Alex suddenly dropped on the sand, his head bowed, he wasn’t looking at us.
“Alex…” Scianna whispered.
Iyanna let go of Altus who fell on his knees.
“I’m sorry.” Altus said.
“No. It’s not your fault.” Alex told him.
I sat on the sand as well and Iyanna did the same, her tears had now dried up but the sadness in her eyes was still there.
I looked at Scianna, she looked troubled, her eyes focused on the ground.
“What’s the matter?” I asked her.
She suddenly looked up and smiled.
“N-nothing.”
I frowned.
Why is she stuttering?
“So, where do we go now?” Iyanna asked.
Alex shrugged.
“Have any idea, Echo?” He turned to me.
I shook my head.
“No. Maybe we should just go find for something to eat first or we should just rest for now.”
Alex sighed.
“You’re right. We should rest. Later, we’ll go find something to eat.”
He stood up and went to a shady part of the beach then he lay on the sand.
We followed him and soon we were all lying there, staring at the blue sea, our mind all preoccupied.
I looked at my sister, she wasn’t lying down, she was just sitting on the sand and her eyes had a sad faraway look.
Does she remember now?
“Scianna…” I called her.
She looked at me and gave me a sad smile.
“Go to sleep now.” She told me.
“You looked troubled.” I said.
“Don’t worry about me. I’m just tired, go to sleep.” She assured me.
I took a deep breath and close my eyes.
Maybe it’s just her memories, they’re slowly returning.
