Chapter 8

UNFASHIONABLY GEEKY

I wandered regrettably into the school gates, dreading school. Seriously it is like a place where children are tortured for 7 hours.

I groaned when I saw Ivy, but for her this is probably heaven because she has people who practically kneel down before her.

I gave a small wave to Lance when I saw him nod in my direction acknowledging me, that's his way of saying hello when he can't get come talk.

He has been acting like we are friends at school which is pretty odd, he normally ignores me. He has probably gotten over his childish assumption of what people think about him and I being friends. I mean seriously what does he have to worry about. If he came to school dressed in a duck suit all the girls would thinks it's 'cute'.

He has also been trying to act normal after I told him about how I lost my virgnity but he hasn't been the same egotistical self around me.

When I got to my locker I saw Hansel leaning against it.

He smiled and waved. I looked behind me to make sure her was actually waving to me and that's when I noticed that Ivy saw and scowled at me and looked very confused about why Hansel was talking to me. He was almost as popular as Lance.

"Hey" I smiled, while opening my locker for first period

"Hey... Umm I hope things are ok between us with what happened on the weekend." He asked. It made me stop and turn around to face him.

"Hansel. Things are fine! I told you that before." I laughed while playfully punching him in the arm.

"Okay good." He smiled. "By the way, we have detention together."

"Great, now I'm stuck with an idiot." I joked. He pouted pretending to be sad. "Go away you dork." I laughed "I don't want to be late to class."

As I walked to detention I saw Natalie and Jason talking to eachother, I was going to say hi when I noticed they weren't talking they were yelling at each other.... I'm going to have to ask her later.

I was about to turn around when I saw them stop yelling and then they were kissing. I stopped and and stared shocked with a disguested face. They would seriously do that in front of people, I turned around and noticed that no one was around.

"Oh." I mumbled.

Jason lifted Natalie up and walked with her legs around his waist. They didn't even notice me when they opened the door to the janitors closet.

I shivered at the realisation on what they were about to do.

I turned on my heel to walk towards detention but when I turned around I found that I was face to neck with Hansel. It caused me to leap backwards in shock

"Wow! Kerina, I didn't mean to scare you." He said apologeticly.

"Oh, that's ok." I like to pride myself on being a very observent person, so his attempts on covering his black eye did not deceive me.

"What happened?" I ask concerned gesturing to his eye.

"Well I didn't get detention for no reason." He replied in a matter a fact tone. He actually sounded proud.

"Omg" I scoffed "that is not something to be proud of." I laughed

"Oh well. You should've seen the other guy." He smirked

"Boys." I rolled my eyes at his cocky remark.

"Did you see Natalie and Jason." He said, he obviously knew I was staring.

"Yeah... Get a room am I right?" I said uncomfortably. "Well we should be getting to detention."

"Mhmm" he said with a raised eyebrow, noticing how I basically doged the question.

As he and I walked away I felt someone else next to me I turned and saw that Lance was next to me.

I smiled acknowledging his presence. "Hey."

"Hey" he said with his charming smile that makes me feel all giddy.

I felt like the three musketers as we walked to detention.

I walked into to my bedroom with a sigh. "Thank god I am home!"

I took a seat at my desk getting ready to play some games, I cracked my knuckles and turned on my laptop.

"I have missed you computer!" I stroked the top of the laptop like an idiot.

I looked over at my phone when I saw that it was buzzing.

It was Hansel, I laughed when I saw the contact photo; it was him eating ice cream and most of it was on his face rather than on his ice cream cone.

I quickly pressed answer before it stopped calling.

"Hello?" He really could've of asked me after detention.

"Hey, Kerina." He sounded different through the phone which made me laugh. "What?" He asked impatiently

"You sound stupid right now."

"Oh, that's because I am eating food at the moment." He clarified

"Oh." I didn't really no what else to say.

"Hey, I'll be by your house in ten, we are going to the park." That really gives me no choice

"Okay... Fine?" I was unsure as to what game he was playing but I went with it.

"Ok cool." He hung up immediately.

As I got out of the car and waited for Hansel to walk around the curiousity got the better of me.

"Ok, why?" I stopped and turned to look at Him

He gave me a questioning look and then he realised what I meant. "Because I wanted to take you somewhere. You're fun to hang out with."

"Oh" I looked down at the ground blushing

I felt his hand on mine he pulled me closer to him and we walked around the park.

I sat down on the park bench out of breath from our walk.

"Wow you are so not fit." He teased

"Shut up! I don't need to work out anyways." I countered.

"Shush you! Not everyone can be as thin as you even when you do nothing!" He chuckled.

I looked around the park when I noticed something that almost crushed me.

Lance, was with Ivy. And not just talking with her but kissing her. I felt like someone cut my heart up into millions of pieces.

"Kerina?" Hansel asked concerned. He reached out and touched my arm.

I felt broken but then something changed in me, I felt ok. Better than ok, fantastic, I had an idea and It was one that just might work.

If Lance was going to hurt me without realising almost everyday. I am going to make him very jealous, its the least he deserves.

I turned and smile flirtasiously at Hansel. "Yeah I'm fine, why wouldn't I be? I'm with you."
