Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies

They arrived at Ruby's around 7:00, walking up as Jill's sister, Tara, pulled up in her taco truck. Alexa directed her where to park as Rylee went inside to do some finishing touches. She propped open the back door, so people could see the truck when they came.

Slowly people started pouring in, most people Rylee knew, had come straight from set to the bar. Chris Hemsworth, Hayley Atwell, Tom Holland, and Tom Hiddleston all arrived together. RDJ, Don, Letitia, Tess, Anthony, Scarlett, Mark, Jeremy, all arrived together from a huge SUV. After that, Rylee started losing count of who she had seen, who she hadn't, and who she'd already accidentally said hi to twice.

Rylee's phone rang, Sebastian's face popping up on the screen. She dipped out of the back room and went to hide in the bars walk in fridge like she's done in the past. It's quiet In there, so Sebastian won't hear any extra noise. She answered when the door shut.

"Hey you!"

"Hey baby. We're about to head out. We can pick you two up on the way through? Like ten minutes?"

"We're actually already on the way! We'll just meet you there."

"Oh, cool, okay. Then we'll see you soon!"

"Great! Love you!"

"Love you babe, bye"

"Bye!"

They both hung up simultaneously and Rylee scurried back out to the room with the party and flicked the lights to get everyone's attention.

"Hey guys! Mr. Birthday Boy is on his way! About ten more minutes!"

Everyone in the room cheered and then slowly morphed back into their general mid level chat.

Rylee found Alexa and just stood in front of her, blowing a strand of hair out of her face.
Alexa pushed it out of her face the rest of the way, tucking it with the rest of her brown wavy hair. "This is going to be great. He'll love it."

Rylee nodded, smiling nervously.

Ten or so minutes passed and Rylee got another text, this time from Chris.

We're walking up the block. Be there in two!!

Rylee got major butterflies reading the text and  quickly hustled over to the lights, flicking them again. "They're almost here! They're right outside!"

Everyone gave a quick "shhh" and a hush fell over the room. Surprise parties always amazed Rylee. It was amazing how you could get a whole room of people to hush in unison. It was almost magical.

Rylee stood beside the door, listening carefully through it though the bar was a bit loud outside. She could hear Chris and Sebastian talking, Sebastian specifically saying "I didn't even know this part of the bar existed. You're sure they said they were back here?"

"Yep, that's what Alexa said." Chris said, leading Sebastian to the back room.

He pushed open the swinging door and was momentarily confused by the darkness. In the next second Rylee flipped on the light and everyone in the room yelled "Surprise!" in unison.

Sebastian jumped quickly but then immediately a smile took over his face and he started laughing. "Oh my god." Was all he could think to say.

Everyone clapped, hooted, and hollered as Sebastian got himself together, still smiling ear to ear.

Rylee popped up beside him, embracing him in a tight hug and kissing him quickly, "happy birthday baby."

"Thanks hun, did you do all this?"
