Cedric P.O.V

I haven't seen Hermione since she left the Great Hall yesterday. I see Harry, Ginny and Ron walk into the Great Hall and sit down at the Gryffindor table. But there's no sign of Hermione. I stand up and go over to them.

"Have any of you seen Hermione?"

"No we haven't seen her since after we got off of the train yesterday why?" Ginny says.

"I just have to talk to her."

"Have you tried the library or near the lake. Hermione loves to read somewhere quiet."

"I'll go check there now. Thanks Ginny." I hurry to the library and accidentally bump into Cho and her friends on the way.

"Ced where are you off to in such a rush?"

"Uh I need to talk to someone so I really can't stick around Cho." I walk away quickly so she doesn't have time to respond. I walk into the library as quietly as possible so I don't make Madame Pince angry. I search all of the aisles and there's still no sign of her. Where else could she be? Did Ginny say the lake?

Without another thought I leave the library and head to the forbidden forest and see someone sat by the lake. I immediately know who it is. Hermione. I sit down beside her.

"Hermione?" I say softly so I don't scare her.

"Yes?" She says quietly.

"What are you doing out here? Lessons are going to start soon." She looks at me and then turns her attention back to the lake. She sighs.

"I guess I better go and get ready for charms." She stands up and starts to walk away. I jump up and catch up to her.

"I'm sorry about last night I shouldn't have forced you to eat something if you weren't that hungry."

"It's ok you were just looking out for me and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you the way I did."

"So are we good?" I hold my hand out hoping that she will shake it.

"Yeah we're good." She smiles and shakes my hand which causes me to smile. I get an idea and stop walking. She turns around and looks at me confused.

"What are you doing?"

"Well I was wondering if you would do me the honors of coming to Hogsmeade this weekend Miss Granger?" I say playfully and bow in front of her.

She laughs and looks at me.

"I would love to Mister Diggory." She curtseys which causes my cheeks to heat up and I can feel my lips hurt from smiling so much.

"Ok." I say and start walking. I link my arm with hers.

"Ok." She repeats and starts walking with me again.

We get back to the castle and I walk her to the Gryffindor common room. She unlinks our arms and I immediately feel myself missing the feeling of her next to me. She turns around and smiles at me.

"I'll see you in the Great Hall at dinner?" She looks at me with a hopeful look in her eyes.

"Of course Miss Granger." I smile and she laughs.

"See you at dinner then Mister Diggory." It's my turn to laugh.

"Bye 'Mione."

"Bye Ced." With that she left and went into the common room. I couldn't help but feel myself blush. I head to the Hufflepuff common room and bump into my friends Austin and Aaron who looked to be in a serious conversation about something.

"Hey guys." They stop walking and I catch up to them.

"Hey Ced what's up?"

"What were you guys talking about just now?"

"Oh nothing." Aaron says and Austin laughs.

"We were talking about how obvious it is that Cho likes you but that you were acting like you like someone else." Aaron says with a chuckle.

I stay silent.

"You do like someone else?" Aaron says shocked.

"Who's the lucky girl?" Austin asks as we reach the common room and head to the boys dormitories.

"There isn't someone else I'm just not into Cho like how you guys say she's into me."

"If you say so Ced." Austin says and heads into the bathroom to get changed.

I roll my eyes and get ready to head to charms.

Hermione P.O.V

I stayed out by the lake all night. I know Cedric didn't mean anything by what he said but I just didn't want to eat because I want to be skinny like Cho and half of the other girls in my year.

I sigh and put my book down and admire the view in front of me. It is so peaceful out by the lake. A few seconds later I hear footsteps approaching. I don't look to see who it is. I feel them sit down next to me.

"Hermione?" I immediately recognize Cedric's voice. It's soft and gentle as if not to scare me.

"Yes?" I say barely above a whisper.

"What are you doing out here? Lessons are going to start soon." I look at him and then turn my attention back to the lake. I sigh.

"I guess I better go and get ready for charms." I stand up and start to walk away. I hear Cedric jump up and catch up to me.

"I'm sorry about last night I shouldn't have forced you to eat something if you weren't that hungry."

"It's ok you were just looking out for me and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you the way I did."

"So are we good?" He holds his hand out hoping for me to shake it.

"Yeah we're good." I smile and shake his hand which causes him to smile. I continue walking and when I realize Cedric stopped, I turn around and look at him confused.

"What are you doing?"

"Well I was wondering if you would do me the honours of coming to Hogsmeade this weekend Miss Granger?" He says playfully and bows in front of me which causes me to laugh.

"I would love to Mister Diggory." I decide to play along and curtsey which causes him to smile.

"Ok." He says and links our arms together.

"Ok." I repeat and start walking.

We get back to the castle and he walks me to the Gryffindor common room. I unlink our arms and immediately I feel myself missing his warmth. I turn around and smile at him.

"I'll see you in the Great Hall at dinner?" I look at him hoping he'll say yes.

"Of course Miss Granger." He smiles and I laugh.

"See you at dinner then Mister Diggory." I smile and he laughs.

"Bye 'Mione."

"Bye Ced." With that I left and went into the common room. I couldn't help but feel my cheeks heat up. I can't stop myself from smiling as I head up to the girls dormitories.
