Verna Tansmia, Heiress to the Spring Court and mates with the Heir of the Night Court walked out of Sage's cottage arm in arm with her mate. She only knew a little about tarot cards. But what she did know was the most High Lords outlawed then, her own grandfather in that. Though she was never told why. She was shocked that after all these years Sage of all people would own some. She also know that they where never wrong and if someone looked into the future with them, that future would come to pass.

"Verna?" Nyx said taking her hand in his.

"Yeah?"

"Do you think Sage was telling the truth?" He asked trying to look at her. "And please say no."

"In all my years of knowing Sage," Verna said. "She has not lied to me about anything. Big or small. She had always told me the truth."

"I will never leave your side Verna." Nyx said holding onto her shoulders. "And some cards are going to stop me."

No. This was not the ending I saw for your story. Verna heard Circe's words playing in her head from only a few hours ago. And what Echo said all them days ago, At the end of this. Someone's father is going be dead. And then an deadly thought hit her, Echo knows how this story will play out.

"Nyx," Verna said. "For the time being I don't think we should be around one another. You need to fix the whole Erica problem and I need to talk to Echo."

"We will speak again on Sunday night?"

Two days away.

"Yes." Verna whispered. "If your not married by then." She half joked. She was trying to lighten the mood.

"I only married one woman and that is you, my perfect Verna." Nyx said kissing her. "I will see you Sunday."

"Until then." Verna said kissing him once more.

Verna opened Echos bedroom door as saw her sitting on her bathroom, a hair a mess. She looked as ill as Verna felt.

"Help me up." She said, Verna put one hand out and she pulls herself up. "They call it morning sickness but it happens every time someone puts food in front of my face."

"Maybe try eating mortal."

Rude, I need Echo to like me for this conversation. For her to answer my questions.

"Tam thinks I should try eating fae food." She said. "Since we don't know if the babe will me a siren or high fae. Why are you here? I'm done with wedding planning. Two weeks. It seems weird to say it out loud."

"Could it be both?" Verna asked.

Growing up Verna always wanted a sibling, someone to play with. But now, she would not of guessed that it would be Echo who was carrying it. That she had a little brother or sister on the way.

"It could," Echo said sighing. "But either way, it's not worth it."

She placed a hand on her stomach. Verna knew sirens were not motherly in their love to their offspring, that once a siren gave birth it was like everyone was giving birth. The clan got a new daughter.

"What makes you say that?" Verna asked looking at her.

Echos eyes went to the green ring that was on her finger.

"I will not live long enough to see that either." She whispered.

"Echo—are you dying?"

"We are all dying Verna, each day we get closer to our deaths without ever knowing about it." She smiled. "That is how the fae are mortal. But to answer you question I might die in the next few days or the next few weeks."

"Does father know?" He must.

"Only you and I know the reason why I'm going to die."

"Want me to throw some salt water on you?" Verna joked but Echo did not smile.

However she seemed to get the joke as she said, "I'm fresh water. Mermaids are salt water." She then sighed. "Don't tell you father."

"Why?"

"Because He is the re—I will tell you what you come to find out." She sat sitting on her bed and patting the side next to it. "What do you want to know?"

"Why you say that mine and Nyx's love story will end in sadness. Why you say that one of us will die, why you say that you are going to die."

"Why do you care?" Echo laughed before she stoped, her dark black eyes looking into my green ones. "Oh. I thought I smelled your scent change."

"Hmm. . .have you told father about me and—"

"No." She smiled as she sat on her bed. "Nor do I plain to. It's your story to tell. All of this, is your story to tell. I'm only a small part of it. But. . .it's common knowledge that High Lords have children around the same time, even their heirs are known to fall pregnant. . .around the same time.  . ." She whispered looking at Verna's stomach. The heiress hide it behind her hands. "The Lady Vivienne was pregnant and she sadly lost her child. I'm pregnant and I will die before I ever get to hold my child. I'm carrying a child I know that I will never get to meet, that is the curse of a siren. Knowing the future and knowing that there is nothing you can do to stop it."

"Answer my questions. After all, you seem to know what I'm going to ask you."

A sad smile went across her face, "Death is a friend to both your family's, and death will make her mark before your c—"

"Who is to die?"

"Two people you love." Echo whispered. "And two more will be in deaths hands. Only she will pick if they also die or not."
