Starfall was still a week away and with it brought the spring air yet, the coldness of the winter air was still around Velaris. Even with so much joy, Nyx could not shake it off. He still had to wear a coat and a hat every time he left the River side house, his mother not letting him leave unless he had one on. Last Night he had seen snow flakes as he flew between the houses around the city. Starfall was coming.
And looking at the city below he knew that they could not wait. The secret that the High Lords and their heirs where coming had not remained an secret for long. All ready, people where getting their houses and shooed ready for new business.

"This is the first time in history that any other High Lord has come." Nyx had heard a few people say as they where getting ready.

In shops near the rainbow, they had put out fake flowers and autumn leaves some had even brought the snow form the outside in to show that they welcomed the High Lords into their city. Nyx knew that the people knew long before he did about this, Nyx knew that his father had asked each and every person in the city below what they thought about this idea. And Nyx knew, that they where happy about it. Some even clapped their hands. For many of them, this was the first time in their long lives that they had seen another High Lord. Rhysand, himself had not talked to Nyx since he had found about about him and Verna. Though, no word had come from the Spring Court demanding that Verna should be set back if she showed up. . .if. Meaning that Rhys and probably not told Tamlin about the sexual
Meeting between Nyx and Verna. Nyx was thankful that his mother agreed to give Verna the invite, alongside Verna agreeing to come so bad Helion and Tarquin. There was no news about Kallista or Erica coming, which Nyx knew worried his sister. However, Nyx told her time and time again not to worry.

On Wednesday afternoon, five days before Starfall, the High Lady of the Night Court called her heir and son to her panting room. Nyx Artemis opened the door, the smell off wet paint hit him. From her seat, the High Lady turned to look at Nyx, no smile or any joy on her beautiful face.

"Son." She said patting the floor beside her. "We need to talk."

"About what?" Nyx asked, though he was sure that he already knew what she was going to say.

"You lied to me." Feyre went on.

"At the moment in time, I did not." Nyx said taking his mothers hands. "You must believe me, Mama, I would never lie to you."

"When you where born, Cassian said 'you have no idea how much trouble this one is going to get into'" Feyre whispered. "Do you know what I replied with?"

"No."

They never talked about Nyx's birth or the fact he nearly died alongside his father and mother. No one liked to talk about the horror that followed that day.

"I said 'those pretty eyes will be to blame, I'm sure."' Feyre smiled at the memory. "And it seems that after all the years I'm right."

"Where are you going with this story?" Nyx asked worriedly.

"Only that I knew you where going to be trouble." She sighed. "Do you love her?"

"Why does everyone want to know about that?" Nyx asked. "And, mother, I do not know. All I want to do is make her pancakes in the morning and I want to set the bowls quickly on the counter and wear socks on the squeezing hardwood floor so I do not wake her up. I want to watch the sunrise knowing that she is sleeping and safe."

"That's love." Feyre said slowly. "Whatever shall I do with you? Hmm? You where always a trouble maker."

"Thanks." Nyx said rolling his eyes. "I know is stupid. Love itself is stupid. I'm meant to marry Savanna, you and father made sure of that. You want me to marry Savanna because you both know that she will make a fine woman to rule by my side and that she is not power hungry."

"Nyx my dear." Feyre whispered taking his hands. "Do whatever makes you happy. I learned the hard way that real and true love does not meet you at your best. It meets you in your mess. N-Nyx, does she love you?"

"I have no idea." He answered.

Feyre turned to look at her painting, it was of flowers. Their pastels a deep and bloody red. She then turned to look at her son.

"At Starfall, there must just be a door opened that leads to a hallway that might just be away from people enough that no one would hear your words." Feyre said. "And if you where wise you must just find yourself in the door way between nine and ten. Just when the High Lord and Ladies are meeting the others." Their was a smirk on her pretty face as she turned back to her painting, "now, be leave me. I need to fix this."

"Thank you." He said kissing her cheeks. "And it looks perfect."
