A sisters promise

Nyx Artemis taped on his sisters door, when she did not answer he opened it.

"Lily?" He called out into the dark space she called a bedroom, not a single candle was lit. "Lily?"

No answer.

He pushed open the bathroom door but did not see her in there. Her closet door was left open a bit, he pocked my head in but did not find my sister there either. Sighing, he walked back to his own room.

"Where have you been?" Nyx heard as soon as he opened his bedroom door.

Nyx liked his bedroom here in Velaris it was much warmer then his bedroom in Hawn City, for one it was not as dark.

"I have been looking for you." Nyx said turning his eyes to his younger sister. "I think we might need a smaller house."

"Maybe." She says sighing. "Is it true? Have you said you have married Verna?"

"I have." Nyx said and a small smile goes to her lips.

It was sad but Nyx could tell that there was happiness behind it, that she was not angry at Nyx the way that their father was.

"At lest one of us got the woman of our dreams," She says smiling. "Come sit."

"I will," Nyx said smiling. "It is my bedroom."

She laughs as Nyx sit down next to her, when they were younger they used to cuddle one another laying down on his bed 'my Lily' He called her and she always replied with 'my Nyxie' but as they got older we stoped that.

"You seem upset." Lilith said.

"I'm not."

"What's wrong?" Lilith said putting her head on his shoulder. "What's wrong Nyxie?"

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Depends." She sighs. "I did not have the stomach to go to Hawn City to see the woman I love. I'm a coward, if anyone asks me I might tell."

"Not this." Nyx said and she looks up at her brother.

"What's happened?"

"Tamlin found out."

"The whole world found out." She said. "Nyx you did tell every—"

"No Liliy," Nyx whispered. "Tamlin found out while I was fucking Verna."

"Oh shit."

"Oh shit Indeed." Nyx said.

"What is he going to do?"

"He has called for a duel."

"When?"

"Tomorrow."

"Have you called for a place? A time?"

"Not yet.Not yet. It's just, Father always went easy on us when we were younger. As did Helion and our uncles. I've never gone up to a—"

"I understand." Lilith says putting a small kiss on his forehead.

"I don't want to die Lilith." Nyx said looking at her. "On the mother! What do I do?"

"Breath." She says. "First you must breath and then you pick a spot you know better then Tamlin does."

"You should like you have done this before."

"Well I have not." She said smiling. "Just. . .come home. Half dead or not. We both know mother will blame herself if something happens to you."

"Trust me Lily." Nyx said smiling. "I will kill Tamlin, and then I will fuck his daughter."

"I don't need to know about your sex life!" She yelled walking out of his bedroom.

"At lest I have one!" Nyx yelled back.

Nyx could not see her face nor hear her response but he know what she done. Knew what finger she had put up as she walked away.
Nyx also knew the smirk that played at her mouth. That night Nyx dreamed, he did not dream often and when he did it was of things that already had happened. But that night Nyx dreamed of a fight he could not win. That night Nyx dreamed of a young girl with long black hair and bright green eyes, he knew who she was. His and Verna's child. A daughter that he will never meet. At one in the morning, Nyx sighed and washed his face. He gave himself a little shave. If he was going to die today, he did want to look good. At two he could not go back to sleep. At three, he went to the Spring Court. By the time Verna opened her balcony doors for her mate, his lips were already on hers.
