"You look like you need someone to calm you down," a high female voice said later that night.

It had been four hours since Nyx and Lilith left the Spring Court. Once they arrived home their mother came running to them, asking again and again if they were alright. Other then a small argument between Nyx and Verna, they all went home without anything hanging off. Though still Nyx thought about what the High Priestess said, about how Verna was not the first nor last of the seed. He made a mental note to remind himself to tell his father when the two males spoke to one another next.

"I'm fine, Savanna." Nyx said looking up at the red haired beauty that was in front of him. "Thank you for asking."

Savanna was indeed beautiful and kind. And Nyx knew that his mother and father as well as Azriel and Gwen slightly wished for the two young lovers to become official partners. Indeed Savanna would make a good High Lady one day, an even better mother, but Nyx could not burden her with the duties that befell someone with the Artemis name. It did not help that Nyx did not even image a future with Savanna. And yet . . . He knew she did. He knew that Savanna loved him with her whole heart. And that pained him more then anything to know, he believed that he did indeed love Savanna but he also knew that she was meant for something greater then to just be his wife and mother of his children.

"Fine," Savanna laughed. "I was just trying to help. Here, at least take this."

Savanna passed him a glass top with a golden colour drink inside. Nyx smirked before he drank it all, he closed his eyes as she laughed.

"You know better then to take it all in one go," She laughed once again. "Anyway, what are you working on? You look so official sitting at your little desk."

"Mother wishes to hold the next luncheon here." Nyx replies. "But so do the Winter Court, so I'm trying to work out which one is best. While in Hawn City it might be best due to the fact we know the land and where people can hide if someone happens. But at the Winter Court . . . We don't know that. Plus, poor Verna has never stepped foot—"

"Why do you care so much?" Savanna asked. "She's Tamlin's daughter, it's not like she is anyone important. We all known that Tamlin will one day fuck someone who will give him a son and the moment that babe is born Tamlin will kick Verna to the side lines. Maybe even out of the house. Poor girl." She bit her dark coloured lip, smearing the lipstick onto. "At least she has Circe. I'm sure the Van Rosenburg's would look after the female if things so south. It's almost enough to make me feel bad for Verna."

"Savanna." Nyx warned. "And to answer your question, I don't care. Not much. I'm just making sure we pick the right thing."

"The new year is coming up." Savanna spoke, so quick and quiet, Nyx was not sure if she spoke at all. "The people in Hawn City would like to see their heir again. Not only that but they have been asking questions, about you and me."

"Has your father told you that?" Nyx asked.

He was scared, and his voice showed it. Savanna was only younger then him by five years, but still. If people of Hawk City where talking, about them, then they would think a wedding was going to happen. A wedding that Nyx wanted no part in.

"Yes and no." Savanna spoke. "Some of it I have heard myself. They whisper that I'm a whore, and you are a male with no idea what he wants. Who needs to sow his wild oaks before he truly picked a queen to one day rule by his side."

"Savanna. . ." Nyx whispered. "You and I both know that is not true. Your more then just my lover."

"What am I?" Savanna asked. Her voice wobbly. "Nyx, what am I?"

"Your Savanna," he answered. "Daughter Of the spy master of the Night Court. And your my lover."

He rose to kiss her, Savanna smiled as she laughed as she opened her mouth for him. Within moments they were topless, running their fingers threw each other's hair. Their breath hot and fast.
