Snowdrift was flying through the heat. She decided to land. She dove and then landed. She hunted but found nothing. She found herself thirsty. Where is the water and food around here, she thought. She blew a little frostbreath to cool herself down. Then she thought that's it! She dug a hole in the sand and blew a bunch of frostbreath in it. The frostbreath melted and turned to water she lapped up the water, not seeing the strange dragon following her. I want to get out of this desert. She started flying again.
She finally reached the end of the desert. The strange dragon landed behind her. She heard him land she was going to turn around but as she turned around, he attacked her. His talons raked across her back. She yelped, but I think he was hurt more. He slid off her back and landed in the sand. "What just happened?" he yelled at her clutching his hurt talon. Then he went unconscious. Snowdrift decided to stay with him, because she wanted to know who he was and why he attacked her and if he was ok.
She made a little frostbreath puddle by his head, it took a little longer for it to melt. Now that she saw him up close she realized he was only a few moons older then her. It was nighttime and Snowdrift fell asleep. When she woke up the next day, the young Sandwing was still unconscious. She decided to go hunting but stayed close. She managed to catch a camel she ate half of it and saved the rest for the Sandwing.
The Sandwing woke up around sun high. His first words he said were "What happened?" then he looked hungrily at the half eaten camel. Then he said, "Can I have that?"
"Sure, but first tell me who you are and why you attacked me." Snowdrift replies. "My name is Snake, and I was just defending my territory and who are you?" he took the camel and ate it. "I am Princess Snowdrift of the Icewings." she said. "Really?" he asked. "And what exactly are you doing in the Sand Kingdom? And why are my talons so cold? I don't remember you spraying me with frostbreath?" Snowdrift replied, "I really am Princess Snowdrift; I ran away, and I want to find Jade Mountain and join their academy. Oh, and I was born with too much frost so I am a frostscale and I was wondering if you could help me find Jade Mountain." Snake had a shocked look on his face. "Jade Mountain is that way," he pointed to the east. "But their classes just ended so you will have to wait until next year to join, so I better bring you to my queen and then finish patrolling," he reached out to grab me but then stopped. "Alright, just follow me and don't run away," he said and then he took off and headed north. She groaned and followed him.
At the castle he took me to the throne room. Queen Delta was sitting on her throne and her daughter, Princess Spark, was sitting on a smaller throne. "Oh, it's you," Queen Delta huffed. She pointed to Snake and two more guards. "Escort her to a room. She'll wait in there until her mother comes," she pointed to a dragon, "send a message to Queen Silvermoon that we've found her daughter and to come pick her up." The guards escorted her to an empty room.
In the room she sat down and waited for her mother to arrive. A guard waited in the room with her. "What's your name?" Snowdrift asked. "Caracara," she said. "As you probably know I'm Princess Snowdrift of the Icewings," Snowdrift said. Caracara simply nodded. She heard a knock at the door and the door opened, and her mother walked in. "Snowdrift! I've been worried sick!" Silvermoon said. Yeah, sure you have.
