We settle down in caves for the night preparing for tomorrow. I worry a lot. If Snowdrift challenges Crimson what would happen if Snowdrift lost, she'd die. The Icewings wouldn't have a queen. Crimson would still be on the throne. I worry myself to sleep and before I know it sunshine is shining in through the window. The broken window, who knows what happened? We meet up, eat and head off to the busy Sky Kingdom.

When we arrive dragons are everywhere. We stay towards the more abandoned areas, dragons no who I am but they don't know who Snowdrift is. Suddenly, a dragon comes out of nowhere and bumps into Snowdrift, but nothing happens, no screams in pain, no yelping, no nothing. "What just happened?" Snowdrift says. "Did I lose my frostscales?" She asks. She touches ShiftingSky but nothing happens. She stops and thinks about recent events. Then she slips her opal ring off and touches a leave. Frost spirals appear on the leaf. "Huh, this might be handy," she says and slips it back on. We make our way through the city and to the castle, which lays in the middle of the town.

At the castle a guard stops them. "Names and business," he says. "Queen Snowdrift of the Icewings and I would like to speak with your queen," she says and then mumbles something inaudible under her breath that sounded a lot like "the murderer." "And you guys?" He says to us. "Falcon, nephew of the Queen, and this is our friend ShiftingSky," I say. He steps out of the way and lets us in and the other guard, Carmine, escorts us to the throne room. Crimson spots them coming in.

"Oh, Princess Snowdrift and Falcon, nice to see you again," She welcomes. "It's Queen Snowdrift, murderer," Snowdrift growls. Crimson doesn't flinch or react. "And I challenge you for the throne," Snowdrift declares. Crimson laughs. "Only, Skywings can challenge for the throne," Crimson says. "Well, I am a Skywing," I say. Crimson bites her lip. "But you have an unfair advantage with your firescales, it just wouldn't be a fair fight," she says. Snowdrift holds up the opal ring. "It would be with this," she declares. She hands me the ring and I touch ShiftingSky, showing I don't have my firescales. She smirks. "Alright, the fight shall be at sundown," she says. "Show them to their rooms," she says.

A guard escorts us to our rooms. At least there is no meal until sundown, I think positively. I lay down and take a nap before the battle.

I wake up to a knock on the door. I look at the window, the sun is on the west side, but it will be an hour or two before sundown. Snowdrift walks in holding a chicken. "I figured you might be hungry, don't worry about poison, I got it from the market, not the kitchen," Snowdrift says and hands me it. "Thanks," I reply and eat it. She smiles and walks out the door. "Good luck," she says and walks out the door. Another dragon comes in. His father. Not a smile on his face but a glare. "What were you thinking?" He hissed. "I was thinking that we shouldn't have a murderer on the throne," I reply. "Murderer? What are you talking about?" He asks. "She murdered Queen Silvermoon," I reply. He gapes. "N-no she didn't," he stutters. "Don't lie, the Icewings have an animus," I lie not telling him about ShiftingSky. He hisses and walks out of the room. "Well, good luck, anyway," he says, and shuts the door.

A dragon comes in and fits me with a few sheets of armor which is really uncomfortable, since I'm not use to having it, because it would melt. Every time I moved it would make a Zzshh noise. He puts my helmet on and brings me to a room of weapons. I choose a sword and some small daggers which the servant puts in sheaths that attach to the armor.

Soon another servant dragon comes in and tells us the battle will start in five minutes. I shiver and the dragon finishes sheathing the daggers and then escorts me to the arena.

The arena is filled with cheering dragons mostly Skywings but also Sandwings, Mudwings and Seawings, I even spot a Nightwing or two. I walk into the middle of the sandy, bloodstained arena, my armor clinking together. I fiddle with the ring on my finger. I spot Snowdrift and ShiftingSky standing close to the wall that seperates the battlefield and the bleachers, they wear worrying faces.

Finally, a cherry colored dragon appears. "Queen Crimson!" He calls and Crimson walks out of a dark cave, rubies and garnet glittering on her armor. "Are you ready?" The dragon calls. The crowd screams yes. "Then, let the fight begin!"
