Wings of Fire: The Ice and Stars prophecy

Chapter 4

Snowdrift couldn't believe it was the day they leave for Jade Mountain. Snowdrift stayed on the outside of the group of Icewings. Her mother would be coming soon and they would head off to Jade Mountain. Snowdrift could here the excited whispers of the other Icewings. Squall and Evergreen still hasn't choose which would go to Jade Mountain. Her mother walked onto the takeoff balcony they were standing on, Squall and Evergreen followed behind her, arguing. "Snowdrift you decide which one of your siblings will go with you," Silvermoon said, "ME!" Evergreen and Squall said at the same time. "Hmm, I choose Evergreen," Snowdrift said. "YES!" Evergreen shouted. Squall had a sad look on his face. "Sorry, Squall," Snowdrift said sympathetically.

"Alright it's time go take off!" Silvermoon announced. Silvermoon made her way through the crowd. She flapped her wings and took off, and the rest followed her. Snowdrift started worrying again.

A few hours later they landed on the landing space, which was filled with dragons of many colors. A small Silkwing approached her. "Hello, my name is Melon!" he said. He held out a talon out to shake her talon but, Snowdrift didn't shake it. "Sorry, can't," she said. "Why are afraid of germs or something?" he moved closer towards her but she backed away. "Sorry, just don't touch me I don't want to hurt you," She moved to the emptiest side of the platform. She saw the confused face of Melon. Her mother approached her. "I better get going, good luck," Silvermoon said. "'Bye," Snowdrift said. "Goodbye, sweetie," She took off towards the Ice Kingdom. A SeaWing came out of the entrance to Jade Mountain. "ATTENTION!" he yelled over the excited dragonets. "I am glad you are all excited to be here. My name is Vortex, I am one of the teachers here at Jade Mountain. I will call you inside by your winglet," he announced. "In the Jade winglet: is Eclipsesong, Indigo, Evergreen-," he started. "IT'S PRINCESS EVERGREEN!" Evergreen shouted. "Sorry, Princess Evergreen, Sahara, Wind, Dawn, Cattail, Anaconda, Ivy, and Coconut. You may all go inside." A Sandwing approached from the entrance. "This is Camel he will bring you to your cave," he said. "In the Silver winglet: ShiftingSky, Vaquita, Snowdrift, Snake, Falcon, Banana, Cricket, Scorpion, Leafhopper, and Melon," he said. A Leafwing and a Seawing approached from the entrance. "This is Raindrop, she will take you guys to your cave, except Snowdrift, your mother requested that you had your own room, Pebble will take you to your cave," Melon had a weird look on his face again.

It was morning she figured she would wait awhile before she went to her classroom, so she didn't run into anyone. She heard the footsteps disappear and she peaked out of the cave the hallway was empty she walked out and was thinking about her winglet and wondered who her clawmate was. She wasn't watching where she was walking and ran into a big orange and red SkyWing, heat warmed her scales "ARE YOU OKAY?!" they both said at the same time. "Oh, yeah, I am fine," she said. He had a puzzled look on his face. "How are you fine? I'm a firescales," he said. "Oh, well I am a frostscales I was born with too much frost," Snowdrift said. "Oh, cool," he said. "Hey, aren't you Falcon?" she asked. "Oh, yeah," Falcon said. "I am Snowdrift," she said. "And I should be getting to class," she finished. "Oh, I should be getting to class too," he said. They walked to the assembly room, where all the other dragonets waited. 

"OK, I think we are all here now," the Seawing named Vortex said. "So, this is the first day at Jade Mountain, and every year we have this assembly so we all can meet each other. I will announce your name and you will come up here and tell us something about you." he said. "We will start with NightWings: Eclipsesong please come share something about you with us." he announced. "Well, uhm I have a sister her name is Silentseeker." she said. "Alright, you may go back to your spot." he said. "Shiftingsky come on up and share something about you with us." he announced. "Uhh well I have some siblings back home their names are Obsidianflight and Darkwatcher." he said. "Ok you may go sit down. Silentseeker come on up and share something." he announced. "My mother is named Swiftclaws and Eclipsesong is my sister." she said. "Ok you may go sit down. So were mostly saying things about our family. ShadowCatcher please come up here and share something about yourself." Vortex said. ShadowCatcher walked up. "I like to read books and draw." he said. Snowdrift stopped listening to them and thought about the Ice Kingdom or well what was left of it and she worried about her mother and Squall.

"SNOWDRIFT! Please come up here and share something about yourself." Vortex yelled. Snowdrift hustle up onto the platform. "Well, I am a princess I am the daughter of Queen Silvermoon and I have two sibs named Squall and Evergreen." she said. "Ok, and everybody should know that she is a frostscale so don't touch her or anything. Thank you, you may go back to your seat." he said. She went back and sat down by Falcon again. "That was the last of the Icewings, so now we will do the Leafwings. Leafhopper come on up." he announced. The Leafwing came up but Snowdrift was getting bored and didn't listen to his speech.

"Ok Tingidae you may come on up." he said. Snowdrift didn't listen to her speech either. "Alright finally Lymantria." Vortex announced. How long was I thinking about the Ice Kingdom? Snowdrift wondered. "OK, assembly dissmissed you may go back to your classes." Vortex said.
