They took off towards the Ice Kingdom. They flew past the hot desert; Snowdrift blew a bit of frostbreath to cool herself down. Snowdrift felt a cold wind across her face. Almost home, she thought sadly. Soon Snowdrift saw snow. Snowdrift shivered, for she was happy for the coldness of the Ice Kingdom. She soon saw the Ice Palace.

"What were you thinking?" Silvermoon said.

"I was thinking I would run away, because you weren't treating me fairly."

"How was I treating you unfairly?"

"You locked me in my room knowing that I couldn't do anything except sit there and do nothing."

"Well sorry, I was busy talking to the other queens about the land between the Sand Kingdom and the Ice Kingdom," she had a worried look on her face.

"So now you care more about the other queens and land than me?"

"NO, of course not! Just go to your room!" Snowdrift stormed off to her room. "I just wanted to go to Jade Mountain Academy," she mumbled.

A while later her mother came into her room holding an envelope. "So, you want to go to Jade Mountain?" she said. "Well yeah, that is kind of why I ran away, I wanted to make friends with dragons that aren't Icewings," she replied. Her mother sighed. "Well, we have to send 7 dragonets to Jade Mountain in a few months," she said. "Can I go? Can I? Pleaseee," Snowdrift begged. "But you might hurt somebody," Silvermoon said. "I'll be careful, Reeaally careful," she said. "Ok, do you know any other Icewings that we could send?" She asked. "Well, we should probably send Squall or Evergreen, and I know some dragonets named Sleet, Verglas, Boreal, and Wolverine," she replied. "Ok," she turned to a guard who was guarding my door. "Go fetch a few messengers to inform some dragonets parents, the dragonets names are Sleet, Wolverine, Verglas, and Boreal." She said. The guard nodded and headed down the hall.

At supper Snowdrift sat at her chair at the dining table, instead of the chair and table at the corner of the room. Supper was a meal of a polar bear and a pitiful walrus. Hmm, this is smaller then usual, she thought. She took a bite of polar bear. "So, two of you will be going to Jade Mountain in a few months, I've already chosen Snowdrift as one of them," Silvermoon said. "How is Snow supposed to go to Jade Mountain, she will probably freeze her whole winglet. Me and Squall should go," Evergreen said. "Because Snowdrift asked to go before you two," Silvermoon replied. "But you said we needed seven dragonets. Me, Verglas, Boreal, Wolverine, Sleet and one of them would only be six, so why can't both go?" Snowdrift asked. "Because I need one of them to stay here. In case anything happens." she replied. "Ok," Snowdrift said. "Who is the seventh dragon coming?" Squall asked. "A dragonet named Saxifrage," Silvermoon says. Snowdrift took another few bites of her supper. "So who is coming with me to Jade Mountain?" Snowdrift asked.

"ME!" Evergreen and Squall say at the same time.

"You two can argue it out, I am done with my supper," said Silvermoon. "Me too," said Snowdrift. Snowdrift headed to her room. She walked through the halls to her room looking at the paintings and gem-embedded vases as she went by.

At her room she sat on the floor where she slept. Snowdrift was too happy to sleep. She thought about all the dragons that she will meet at Jade Mountain. What if I do hurt somebody at Jade Mountain? Would they kick me out? She worried. What if my winglet doesn't like me? She was getting worried. She finally fell asleep.

In the morning her and her family went hunting. Squall and Evergreen were still fighting about who would got to Jade Mountain. "I will hunt by the shores," Snowdrift announced. "I will come with you," her mother said. Snowdrift took off, her mother flying behind her.

At the shore Snowdrift was confused, the big rock that used to be a dragons-length from the shore was now a distant rock about four dragons-length from the shore in water. "What happened. It has been a while since I hunted by the shores but how could this have happened?" she asked her mother. "It's been getting warmer and not like it's-almost-summer-warm. Like the weather-is-getting-humid-and-the-Ice-Kingdom-has-started-melting-warm," her mother said. "THE ICE KINGDOM IS MELTING!!!!!!!" Snowdrift roared. Her mother had a worried look on her face again. "Well, what are you going to do about it? What if we have to move? Maybe you should ask for our land back that we gave to the SkyWings. Now I don't want to go to Jade Mountain, because I'm worried about you and the IceWings," Snowdrift said. "No, go to Jade Mountain, that is what you have been wanting," Silvermoon said. "Fine, but only because you asked me to," Snowdrift said.
