Wings of Fire: The Ice and Stars prophecy

Chapter 2

They took off the next morning.

At noon they landed on a small island. They rested and ate. I am a Skywing, I'm exhausted, imagine what those IceWings felt like. I twist the opal ring on my finger and then slip it off and set it on top of the bag. He thought while eating an albatross. They took off again after they ate. In the evening they landed on another island. ShiftingSky checked the map. After the next island was the Icewing's island. They found a cave made by a river and checked it out. They layed down and Falcon heard ShiftingSky's snoring. He tried to fall asleep but he couldn't. He decided to check out the rest of the cave.

There were lots of twists and turns but there wasn't any turn-off tunnels. The tunnel got narrower. He squeezed through, it opened up into a large cavern. In the cavern there was a stream that wrapped around a little island in the middle on the island there was a jewel it was clear like a diamond with a dark purple tint, there were small little white dots, it looked like a peace of the sky. In the rock was a shiny dark circle, that you could only see if you looked closely. He went back to there sleeping place to get ShiftingSky.

"Yeah, I have read about them in a book. They are called Flourite. You can only find them in hot caves or springs. But i have never heard one having a dark circle in it. " she said. "Should we break it and find what is inside it?" He asked. "Sure." She said. He grabbed a large rock and walked into the cave. "Wait!" ShiftingSky yelled. A strange dragon stepped out from behind a rock.

Snowdrift woke up, sun was streaming into the bare cave. She yawned and got up. Today she could finally get up and go hunting and patrolling. She walked to the new throne room. Her mother was putting patrols together. "Oh, Snowdrift you can go on with Nebula's patrol, they will be patrolling the far southern island." She joined the rest of the patrol.

On the outer island they circled around the edge of the island and made there way in. There was a carcass and two sets of talon tracks- wait one of the tracks was burning the grass- it couldn't be. She followed the scorching tracks. They led to a cave. She went back to get the patrol and headed in.

Falcon turned to look at the strange dragon. She was a pale blue dragon and her wings were a clear color tinted with a pale bluish-greenish color, they were sparkly too  there are several barbs on her tail, that looks dangerous. "I am the last of the Opal tribe. I was sent here to protect the rock until the dragon of ice and the dragon of fire came to receive the stone of the lost tribe, Opal tribe." She announced. "Uhmm, ok?" He said. He heard a shuffling from the entrance of the cave. Snowdrift walked in. Snowdrift. She looked over at him. Then after a couple of heartbeats, she ran and hugged him. He hugged her back. They stood and she looked over at the strange dragon. He twined his tail with Snowdrift's. The dragon of ice and the dragon of fire he thought about what the dragon had said. They walked up to the rock, there tails were still twined. 

The water near his talon farthest from Snowdriftt's boiled and the water near the talon farthest from him had a thin sheet of ice on the top. "It is you, the dragon of ice," she walked up, her tail making a grating noise as it dragged on the floor and she pointed to Snowdrift, "and the dragon of fire." She pointed at me. "What is your name?" ShiftingSky asks the dragon. "My name is Aqua. What is yours?" She asked. "I am Snowdrift, and this is Falcon." Snowdrift said. Aqua beckoned them forward. "Ice dragon sit there," she pointed at a spot on one side of the rock. "Fire dragon sit there," She pointed to a spot on the other side of the rock. He walked up to the rock. "Put your talons on the rock." Aqua said. They did as she said. The rock broke open and the Rock of Opal fell, but Aqua caught it. "Your job is to restore the Onyx tribe they are hidden on the lost continent, somewhere." Aqua said. Great, now we have to restore another tribe he thought. He decided to just nod. Aqua tossed the rock to Snowdrift. She caught it. "Now get out my cave," She said and then retreated back to the shadows of the cave. They walked out of the cave into the fresh air. ShiftingSky gathered up there stuff in her bag. "Falcon, you have to come to the Ice Island with me, forget about this stupid Opal tribe," Snowdrift pleaded. "No, Snowdrift, you have to come back with me. We will figure out a way to restore the Ice Kingdom." He said. "No, Falcon, how can there be a way to restore the whole Ice Kingdom? There is no way, Falcon, so just come to the island with me, there's plenty of food and room," She said. He thought about it for a moment. "I will visit but i won't stay there. There has to be a way to restore the Ice Kingdom." He decided. 

ShiftingSky walked up. "Whatcha guys talking about?" She asked. "I will be going to visit the Ice Kingdom, the new one. Want to come with?" He asked. "Of course!" She exclaims. 

"Well, than let's go to the Ice Kingdom."
