After we had finished making a plan on what to do next, we got into Sam's car and headed for Fort Meade. It wasn't a very long drive but it would take a lot of teleporting once we made it there. Sam was confused about how we planned to get the suit which I found out was name the EXO-7 Falcon suit. I had decided not to let Sam in on my plan, at least not yet.
"Are you guys sure that you know what you are doing?" Sam asked for what seemed like the billionth time, as we got closer to Fort Meade. "This is a government facility and if they catch you-"
"Sam!" I yelled. He looked at me in the rear view mirror. "Yes, I know what I'm doing. I promise it will make sense soon." He just shook his head and muttered to himself. We couldn't go through the main gate so we parked on the side of the base and got out. Sam took out a pair of binoculars and showed me what building I needed to get to.
"There it is," he explained pointing to a building that wasn't terribly far away but it still was a good distance. I looked at the building for a moment, trying to get my bearings. Then I grinned as I looked up from the binoculars. I took the earpiece that Steve handed me and put it in my ear.
"This won't take me long gentlemen," I announced, sounding confident. I stood up and focused all my energy, and opened up a portal. I heard Sam cry out in shock but I stepped through the portal before he could say anything. As it closed behind me, I ducked down behind a crate. I reached up and touched the comm unit.
"Ok, I'm right next to the building. Is there anyone in front of it?" I whispered, to Steve.
"It doesn't look like it," he replied. I crept forward and peeked around the corner. He was right, there was no one. I lifted my hand in a thumbs up gesture to the boys and snuck around to the door. But just as I was about to open it there was a voice behind me.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" it said. I turned slowly and saw one guard standing there, looking at me nervously, his gun trained on me. I held my hands up and focused my energy again. I sent a small shot of it towards him, in order to manipulate his mind into letting me inside.
"I'm a scientist and I need the EXO-7 Falcon suit for an experiment that I'm doing," I explained.
"Alia, what are you doing? Get out of there," Steve's voice hissed. I ignored him and turned back to the man in front of me. He walked over and opened the door to the building that I needed to get into.
"Stay here and don't let anyone in here," I ordered to him. He saluted me and planted himself in front of the door.
"Alia, what was that?" Sam's voice asked. I grinned again.
"That, my dear Sammy, was a little bit of mind manipulation," I explained, somewhat smugly.
"Wow," I heard him say. "Steve your girl is something else."
"Yeah, she's pretty amazing," Steve replied. I chuckled slightly.
"You boys know I can hear you right?" I asked. They both chuckled and went silent. I crept around the building until I found what Sam was talking about. I had never teleported through a wall before. I needed an image of what I was teleporting to, so that I didn't mix anything up. I placed my hand on the door for a moment and focused my energy, trying to decide what to do. Just then out of no where, I saw into the room behind the door and saw the wing suit in a glass case. I continued to focus my energy and a second later I was in the room with the suit. I stood back in awe of myself and took a moment to catch my breath.
"Babe can you still hear me?" I asked through the comms.
"Yeah I can hear you sweetheart," Steve replied.
