Y/n's POV
"Hey, you got to get up. We have to leave soon," Karl's voice calls out from behind me.
"But I'm comfy," I roll on my back and rub my eyes, I feel his arms wrap around me and lifts me up to my feet.
I wrap my arms around him and he giggles, "you just cuddled with me all night and still can't get enough," I let go of him and look up to see him smiling.
I walk over to the closet and grab something to ware, then head to the bathroom to get ready. As I brush my teeth I notice the ring in my nose once more and remember what happened last night, remembering when he kissed my head, when he told me it was beautiful.
I finish brushing my teeth and wash my face, do my hair. Then look at myself in the mirror, my polo is tucked into my black jeans that go up high on my waist, my ankle high boots would go perfectly with it. I fluff up my hair a little with my hands then re part it, finally finished I walk out of the bathroom and back into Karl's room.
Him and Nick are sitting on his bed, Karl sees me and stands up, making nick go silent. "What?" I ask after the silence gets weird, Nick stands up.
"Nothing, me and Karl where just talking about something private is all," he pats my shoulder as he walks out of the room.
"Ok," I say slowly and I walk over to the closet and grab my shoes.
We all meet downstairs and get ready to leave, I see Nick looking at me. "Hey I like your nose ring," he says then looks back down, the room fills with silence.
"so who's car are we taking?" I asked
Karl giggles "how about yours y/n," and nugges my arm
I roll my eyes and look at him, "vary funny Karl, now seriously who's car are we taking?"
There's a few seconds of silence before Karl starts to talk again "I will drive, Nick you drove for 2 days straight it's only fair," Nick nods
"I call shotgun," I raise my hand and say before standing up and walking to the door
"What, she can't just, she's not even, there's no way, nope," Nick can't find the right words so he jumbles up his words.
"I. Call. Shotgun," I say again but slower this time
"She gets shotgun," Karl points at me while looking at Nic
"What?!" He acts offended
"She called shotgun so she gets shotgun," Karl rolls his eyes and stands up, grabbing his keys off the hook. Nick continues to complain about not getting to sit up front as we drive to get iHop. "Nick, listen man, she's older than you, and she called it, so it's only fair. How about on the way to the mall you sit in the front, like you two switch every ride?"
He looks at him in his rear view. "Fine,"
We get to iHop and go inside. The waitress gets us a seat and we all sit down, Nick on one side, me and Karl on the other. We order our food and drinks at start to chat. "So what shops do we want to go to after this?" Nick asks.
"well I was wanting to look at some new rings," I say and look down at my hand, there's a moment of silence before Karl says something
"well I wanted to look for some new nail polish colors, if that's ok,"
"I was thinking of getting some new shoes, to be honest I've had these ones for years and don't think they will last much longer," Nick says.
"We all can split up and meet somewhere, we all want to go different places," I lean back against the booth and the waitress comes around the corner with our food.We eat in silence.
"Are you all ready for the check?" The waitress scared me when she arrives at our table
"Yes, we are," Karl says after looking at both of us, she hands him the check and he pays
"I get front seat," Nick says and walks ahead of me.
"If you get front seat I get aux cord," I say as we get into the car. I scoot into the middle seat and grab the cord then plug it into my phone. I shuffle my playlist and sit my phone in the cup holder in the front, the first song is one I play all the time, Fathered Indian, by Tyler Childer.
"Ooo I love this song," I say and sit back to put on my seatbelt
"hmm never heard it befor," Nick says and nods to the beat. The lyrics start and I begin to sing along, the boys both go silent for a moment and listen to me sing along. I see Karl looking at me in his rear view every few seconds as he drives.
The song ends and Nick speaks up "wow, your voice sounds even better in person," and his words shock me, I know my voice sounds good because I've been training it sense I was little.
"Thanks," I say and look out the window to the left of me.
A few songs pass and we arrive at the mall, Karl gets out and opens my door, I get out and Nick walks over beside us as Karl shuts my door. "What a gentleman," I look at Karl and say, he smiles and stats walking with Nick.
I see Nick say something but I can't hear him say anything. Karl nods at him and we arrive at the door of the mall, Karl opens the door and lets me and Nick walk in before him, Nick opens the second door ahead of me and I walk through, Karl then Nick following close behind.
"So, how are we going to do this, we all want to go to different places." Me and Karl make eye contact and I get nervous.
"how about we split up for a little bit and we meet back here in 45 minutes?" Karl looks at both of us with an extremely serious face.
"Ya, sure," I nod and walk past Karl to go to the shop I need to, me and Karl make eye contact again. Nick grabs Karl's arm and I can see in Karl's eyes his reaction. I walk past him and when I look back there both gone, I turn back around and continue to walk to the store for my rings.
I finally find the right store and walk inside, there's only a few people in there so it's not super hard to find my way around. I find the ring section and start try them on, ironically I find one that fits my left middle finger perfectly, I keep it in my hand so I can buy it. I look more and find a really pretty moon ring that fits on my right ring finger, I keep it as well.
Eventually after a while of searching I have what I want and go to pay, I pay with cash and leave. I walk to the place we where going to meet at, I see Nick sitting on a bench nearby. I go up and sit next to him, "find what you where looking for?" I ask after I sit down.
"umm, ya, but there's something I need to ask you, about Karl," he looks me in the eyes.
"What's up?" I ask in response, you can almost hear the shaking in my voice.
"Well... do, you like him?" He asks in a vary serious voice
I panic internally. "If I tell you will you tell him?" I bring my knees up and hug them close to me, there's a small amount of silence.
"I mean, if you don't want me to I won't, but I made a promise to a friend that I would ask... not to Karl, just making that clear," there's more silence.
"I do, I really do. And for the longest time I have been trying to tell him but every damn time somehow it gets ruined," I rest my chin on my knee.
"I can help, I'll let you to have alone time, how about tonight, you two go skateboarding and I will stay home. Just let me know how it goes when you get back,"
I sit up "really?"
"Yes! Of corse, even though I just met you I feel like we know each other really well, also I'm sorry for getting mad when you called shotgun, you can have it from now on." He looks away for a second then back at me.
" thanks man, thats really nice of you," I put my hand in a fist in front of him.
He stands up and pulls me to my feet, then hugs me, it shocks me but I hug him back. After a few second he lets go and I do as well, he look past my shoulder then says "this conversation never happened," and looks back again. I turn around and see Karl walking back over to us empty handed
He gets up to us "didn't find any, but I see you two found what you where looking for," he points down to mine and Nicks bags.
"Ya, and look at this," I pull out the ring for my middle finger and put it on, then flip off Nick with a smile.
