I pull my car over on side of the small butcher shop. Horror was right, it's not too far from our apartments.

'I hope that I got here fast enough.'

I have no idea where we're going. I don't know if we have enough driving time to get there, or if we would have to rush ourselves to get back to work on time. Hopefully Horror picked somewhere close. I step out of my car and go inside.

'This place is freezing cold!'

It's understandable. All the meat has to be kept in large freezers to stay fresh. Still, how can anyone tolerate how cold it is? ALL DAY?! I don't see anyone behind the display case. It features all different cuts and types of meat. I peek at some of the price labels.

'Hm.. Might have to come here more often.'

It's a little cheaper and most likely fresher than what you get at the store.

I look around some more, hearing a conversation going on nearby. I spot Horror through a doorway that leads into a back room. He has a big smile on his face, holding an axe over his shoulder.

'An axe? I'm not familiar with the practice but I have a pretty sure feeling that butchers don't use those. Do they???'

He has his phone beside him on speaker mode. The voice of a woman can be heard on the other end of the call, "Remember Sans, I want that slab sectioned properly and organized in the main freezer. I already have a shelf cleared off for it. The shoulder needs to be packaged by the pound for one of our clients and put aside in one of the tub containers, then it should also be put in the freezers until tomorrow.... Um.. Please go easy on the table. Somehow, you make better cuts with your axe rather than the knives but the tables are getting harder to repair. You're swinging a bit too hard."

Horror smiles even more, chuckling, "I got it, Boss. Seriously, relax. It's your sick day, so you should be resting. Besides, you've let me take care of the shop a few times before."

"I know but still! Someone's gotta make sure things are done. I can't help feeling anxious. A few of our customers aren't respectful to you unless I'm there."
.
"Nobody's caused any trouble today. M'fine."
.
"You're sure??? I'm sorry. I could've given you the day off if we didn't have that huge order going out tomorrow."
.
"I told ya it's fine. I like my job. Heh. OH- Before ya go, I'm gonna be closing up shop for around an hour so I can go out on lunch break."
.
"Y-Yes, that's perfectly fine! Just make sure to lock everything up as usual until you come back. Thanks again, bye!"
.
"See ya."

Horror hangs up the phone, turning to me, "Ya gonna say hi, Y/N, or just stand there?"

'AH GEEZ-'

I scramble back, panicking a bit, "S-Sorry! I didn't mean to invade your privacy! I didn't want to interrupt..." Nervous and a little embarrassed, I run my hand through my hair and rub the back of my neck.

Horror smiles, reassuring me, "Hey, it's alright. I was only messing with ya." He turns back to the metal table in front of him, looking at the large slab of meat on top of it. It's hUgE, that might as well be half of a cow or something! It's been cut up in several pieces already.

"Ya can come on back if ya want. Be careful though, it's a little slippery since I mopped." "Are you sure??" "Yeah, this should only take a minute."
