Bow and arrow with my king.

She looked up at him as he says these words. "I never forgot."

Her eyes widen as she just stared at him in this moment

"..why..then my king did you..act like we're complete strangers?" She said asking confused.

"Do not forget I am now king of our country..I cannot just act friendly or nice. I am a king so I must keep a straight face besides what would our people think if they just saw us greeting each other very friendly when your a maid and I'm the king."

She nodded. "I know my king..I apologize.." sook ja bowed with not much to say other than she was just grateful he remembered at all.

"I think we should get back to the palace now your majesty it's getting very late." The guard said bowing.

"Let's go sook ja." She got up and waited for him to pay the lady as they both walked back with the guards.

She looked at him admiring his lovely features, he was definitely the most handsome out of anyone in the country and she couldn't help but stare at his charms.

"What are you looking at?" He said staring back at her. She gulped and turned away, "nothing your majesty I was just—"

"Admiring my handsome face?" He said looking at her.

"I would not dare to..look at your handsome face your majesty..."

"What?! are you saying I am ugly?!"

"No that's not what I meant—"

The king like that?!" The guard asked.

"It's okay." The king said waving his hand as a signal for the guard to back down. "She's an old friend of mine..I guess she still hasn't learn manners from a young age." He said sighing.

"Hmmp as if..I do have my manners..it's just it's my first time in the palace. I spent all my time in the house..with my family and now I'm in the palace things have changed for sure." She told him.

They were finally back at the palace. Where the king did his usual routine, and of course he wanted sook ja to accompany him.

He was shooting bows. "Watch this." He said stretching the bow and arrow as the arrow flew across the target right in the middle. "Bulls eye.."

She looked at how wonderful he was. "I can do it too." She said just taking the bow and arrow and shooting one, even she too did a bullseye. "Gotcha!" She said giggling and smiling.

He look at her admiring her features. She wasn't bad looking either, he couldn't help but find it attractive that even she could do this kind of thing most ladies couldn't. "Where did you even learn that?" He asked shocked.

"I practiced all the time when I was younger. You see i had to learn one way or another how I was going to protect my family after all I wanted to make my mother proud since My father isn't here to see me..I hope he would be in heaven at least watching over me."

The king also got reminded of his father when she would say these words. "I know how it feels..when my father died..I worked even more hard to become a better king than I already was.."

"Is that why you're so cold now?" She asks.

"HOW DARE YOU? Ask for forgiveness now you lowly wench why would you even ask the king such a question? Did you already forget your place because you've had small conversation with his majesty?" Asked the guard.

"Step back it's fine." He said. "To be honest their just rumors you know. Everyone thinks I'm this cruel king, but everything I've did..I done it for my country for my people yes I may look serious all the time but it's just how I've learnt from my father."

"I too wanted to make my father proud. so by acting the way he once was. Protecting and serving my people and country I hope that he would even be proud of me."

"Well I think you've done a fine job and your the most amazing king ever!" She said giving him a thumbs up.

He smiled a bit but tried not to show it. "Well..if you must say that..thanks.." he said looking the other way.

"Okay well that's enough for today let's head back I think it's best to take that shower now..I have affairs early in the morning."

"Okay."

She walked him back.
