"Xamani?!"Xamani slowly opens her eyes to see an outline of someone hovering over her.
"Thank god!"
She furrows her eyebrows blinking a few times to clear her vision. It was Cherish.
"You scared me for a second," she says.
Cherish had been shaking the girl but immediately retracted her hand when Xamani opened her eyes. And while Cherish was calming down from her mini panic attack, Xamani was calm and relaxed with the way she was feeling.
The tingling sensation running through her body felt nice paired with her hoodie's warmth, leaving her in a daze. Her face showcases this as her eyes are low and droopy. And although it felt nice, it confuses her. She never felt this way after waking up. On a good day, she usually felt energized and was ready to get out of bed. And in this case, it did seem like a good day, only without the "ready to get out of bed" part. In other words, she wanted to stay laid back. It was similar to the feeling she got when she cut: high.
"You alright?" Cherish asks, breaking the silence. She wasn't hovering over Xamani anymore but there was still a major height difference because of Xamani's reclined seat.
Xamani glances at her before looking up at the roof. "Yeah," she mumbles. Her throat wasn't dry how it tended to be when she first woke up.
It seems like she's been out for hours, yet when she looks out the window, it's still dark. The only thing illuminating the inside of the car was the building Cherish had parked in front of.
Xamani doesn't take her eyes off the window as she asks, "What happened?"
"You passed out." The words left Cherish's mouth and Xamani almost got whiplash looking her way.
"I what?"
"Passed out."
Xamani shakes her head. "Nah, I must've fallen asleep or some. Ion just pass out." She tries to sit up but instantly regrets it when her daze is replaced with a pounding headache. "Ow," she winces, bringing a hand to her temple.
"What's wrong? You good?"
"Yea-" Pain shoots through the left side of her head causing her to clench her teeth with a groan. What's wrong with me? She thought.
"I think I should call Tammy," Cherish says, worry evident in her voice. She grabs her phone off the dashboard then turns it on, the bright light illuminating her face.
"Nah. Youn have to call. I'm straight," Xamani strains out. Her face told otherwise. It felt like her head was about to explode but she wouldn't tell Cherish that.
Cherish averts her eyes for a split second before returning them to her phone. "You don't look like it. Just try to relax while I get her on the line."
