Xamani was drowsy. Sleeping on a hard and uncomfortable floor for weeks really did a number on her. So being able to lay peacefully in a soft bed with a few fluffy pillows and a warm comforter made her body happy. So happy that she still hadn't woken up and it was four in the afternoon. But, the bed wasn't the only thing keeping her asleep.

It was Cherish too.

The girl made her feel safe and secure throughout the night so when Cherish tried to remove herself from the bed to start her day, it failed. Xamani refused to let her go and it forced Cherish to lay there longer than she wanted. When it hit eleven she couldn't take being in bed anymore so she tried to slip away again but Xamani held onto her like a snake wrapping around its prey. So, Cherish did the only thing that seemed to benefit the both of them: She carried the sleeping girl to the couch and sat down with her. Xamani made herself comfortable at her side before drifting back off and Cherish kept herself busy by watching t.v. and reading a book. That's how they stayed the whole day.

Cherish felt Xamani stir next to her. She looked to be sure that the girl wasn't just moving in her sleep and was glad that that wasn't the case. "You're finally awake," she says.

Xamani stands up and stretches. "I just slept so good."

"I hope you did. You had me sitting here all day."

Xamani ignores her and goes to the kitchen. She comes back with a bowl of cereal and sits back in Cherish's personal space before switching the channel to Disney. Cherish was shocked, to say the least, because the girl curled up into her side without being asleep was new. Being curled up into her side while being asleep was new too but Cherish knew it was because of last night. She just thought it would've worn off by now and Xamani would be back to her old grumpy self.

"You love them cereal, don't you?" Cherish teases, flipping the page in her book.

"Yeah, and what about it?" Xamani responds with sass.

"Dang, I can't ask a question?"

"Nah, let me eat in peace."

Cherish watches her take another spoonful of Honey Nut Cheerios. "Well, excuse me."

She went to go make herself something to eat since she hadn't done so all day. She wasn't hungry but she still wanted to put something on her stomach. She decided on a fruit bowl drizzled with honey.

She went back into the living room and resumed her position before changing the channel. Xamani had gone into the kitchen to put her bowl in the sink and when she came back she said, "bruh, what'chu doin'? I was watchin' dat." She sits in Cherish's personal space, again, and grabs a piece of fruit like it was hers.

"Well go ahead and eat as much as you want," Cherish comments sarcastically. Xamani ignores her and changes the channel back. She looked like a chipmunk whose cheeks were stuffed with nuts due to the cantaloupe in her mouth and Cherish wanted to laugh.

The two of them ate from the bowl and when Cherish was full she put it on the coffee table.

"Do you want to talk about last night?" She asks.

"I just had a lil moment." Xamani grabs the bowl back up and begins eating again.

"That didn't seem like a little moment. Why were you crying in the middle of the night?"

"I had a dream 'bout ma old best friend. That's it, no biggie."

"Ashton?"

"Nah, the one befo'e dat."
