"Ugh!" Xamani screams, knocking everything off of her dresser. She's never felt so much rage within her. She couldn't believe Ashton, the only person who she thought actually understood her. She should've told Xamani how she really felt from the get-go instead of dealing with it like it was nothing.
Xamani knew how she was, she was completely aware but she felt as though she didn't need to change herself for anybody and Ashton made her feel that way as well because she still stuck by her side, even through the roughness Xamani would put her through.
She had ripped the sheets off her bed, cut her pillows open and now they were seeping with blood as she continuously sliced through her skin. She didn't care if her older cuts weren't healed. That didn't matter.
She was crying, something she rarely did. The last time she cried she had found out her parents died.
Her eyes land on the craft Cherish made at the park. It was an imitation of the fairy house Lizzy made for Tinker Bell. Cherish let her have it since she refused to create anything on her own.
Xamani treated Cherish exactly how she use to treat Ashton. So did that mean Cherish had some built-up anger and words she'd soon let spill within due time? Xamani's feeling of rage hits its peak and she smashes the fairy house, not caring that her blood was getting everywhere. Forget Cherish.
The door bangs open and there is Tammy. "What is going on in here?!" She gasps when she notices the mess and blood splattered everywhere. "Oh my god! What did you do to yourself?" She rushes over to Xamani and instantly grabs her arms. She quickly inspects them before yelling. "Where is it?!"
"Get out!"
"Where is the weapon?!" she exclaims, shaking her.
"Leave me alone!" Xamani yanks away from her, a little too hard and she ends up falling to the ground after having tripped over the broken fairy house.
Tammy takes this as her chance to start searching the room for the weapon but comes up empty-handed. "Let's go! You're coming with me."
"No-Offa me!" Xamani grits, as she struggles against Tammy who roughly pulls her out of the room. "Let me go! Get offa me." Kids were all around the hall, staring at Xamani's bloody body and tear-stained face in horror as Tammy held a death grip on her arm, dragging her through the hall.
Ashton and Xamani lock eyes and Ashton gives her a sympathetic yet horrid look, her eyes roaming Xamani's body. Xamani tears her eyes away looking at the ground as she sniffs, continuing to attempt to pull away from Tammy.
"Everyone into your rooms now," one of the caregivers instructs loudly, but no one listened. They just watched until Xamani was out of sight.
"That girl is insane."
"What was she doing in that room?"
"Probably trying to kill herself. She's a sick one."
"She just wants attention."
"Yeah," someone else agrees.
"I'm glad you told her off, Ashton. That's what she gets for treating all of us so bad. Now she's getting a taste of her own medicine."
Everyone slowly begins going to their rooms but Ashton just stands there. Carleesa touches her shoulder. "Hey, are you alright?" Ashton says nothing. "I know it must be hard to see your best friend go out that way. But maybe it was a sign from God that now it's time to move on." Carleesa gives her shoulder a subtle squeeze. "Don't feel bad for her actions. None of this is your fault. Come on, let's go to my room."
Ashton quickly wipes her eyes before allowing Carleesa to lead her. Maybe she was right.
"I know it may be hard to finally put her in the past, but you'll be able to do it. And I'll be there through it all, supporting you all the way. And you shouldn't ever for a second question your decision of letting her go. She treated you so badly, now she's getting worse-"
"C-can we not talk about this, please."
Carleesa nods understandingly. "Yeah, I'm sorry." She bites her lip and looks down, suppressing the smile wanting to take over her face.
On the other side of the building, Xamani was getting shoved into the clinic. "This little girl decided to harm herself. Wrap her up quick, please."
"Oh my!" The nurse screams. In her twenty years of working here, she's never witnessed someone in the state Xamani was in. "I don't think that will be enough. She might need to get serious medical help-"
"No, what she needs is for you to wrap her up. She'll be fine. Now, do as I say," Tammy instructs firmly.
The nurse says nothing more and follows Tammy's orders. She kept giving Xamani eyes of sorrow but Xamani never met her gaze. After she was bandaged up, Tammy took her to an abandoned room. It's not that no one was allowed in there the kids just never went in it because of how creepy it was. There was only a chair in there and Tammy made Xamani sit in it.
"This is what happens when you act a fool." She begins tying Xamani to the chair as Xamani sat there motionlessly. Her high was kicking in. "I mean really? Cutting yourself? You'd risk ending your life over something that probably wasn't even a big deal?" Tammy tightens the rope before squatting down in front of the girl. "I don't know if you thought pulling what you just did would somehow get you out of here, but it won't. I should get you thrown into another asylum. But lucky you, I'm not. It would give this orphanage a bad rep and we're number one in the state. So you're gonna stay in this room until you're fully healed. I'll bring you food, and water, and have the nurse come to change your bandages when needed. Got it?" Tammy doesn't wait for an answer as she stands up, exiting the room and closing the door behind her.
Xamani's head hung low, staring at the dirty floor. She was alright now. All her worries were washing away. Nothing could ruin this. Her eyes slowly shut before she takes a deep breath, darkness consuming her.
The Next Day
8:08 P.M."Xamani! I won't tell you again. Eat. This. Food. You haven't eaten since yesterday."
"I'm not hungry! Stop botherin' me and let me out this rope!" Xamani struggles in the chair.
"No! You're gonna eat this food. I am not about to be blamed for your death." Tammy suddenly shoves the broken piece of sand which into Xamani's mouth. "Eat. It." Xamani only holds it in her mouth and Tammy nods in satisfaction, but she wasn't satisfied for long when Xamani spits it out, hitting her in the face. Tammy's face contorts to anger. "That's it! I've had enough with you. You're disrespectful and have no manners. I've made up my mind and even after you've healed you'll be staying in here. Welcome to your new room. Don't even think about your bed or dresser or any of that. Since you want to be disobedient, I'll show you how kids like you should live." Tammy leaves out, slamming the door.
