The doctor sighs with a shake of his head as he disposes of his gloves. He stands up and looks over at Tammy whose arms were crossed with concern. "No sign of injury, drug use, or...rape."
Xamani shakes her head. "That girl did some ta me!" As soon as she got to the orphanage, she ran straight to Tammy's office and explained what happened while Cherish denied the accusations. Cherish left a while after that and a doctor was called from Charity Hospital.
Tammy shakes her own head with the raise of an eyebrow. "Obviously not, the doctor has checked you three times already and the results keep coming back negative." They were all crammed in the small nursing office.
"The tests are wrong!" Xamani exclaims. "Explain to me why I can't remember anything?" She waits for a response but all she gets is a concerned look from the doctor.
"Are hallucinations common for you?" He asks, pushing his glasses up his nose.
Xamani furrows her eyebrows. "No. I've never had hallucinations."
The doctor checks his clipboard for the millionth time. "Maybe that's what you're experiencing. I-"
"I'm not experiencing no hallucinations!"
"Xamani!" Tammy hisses.
"No worries, Ms," the doctor begins, "As I was saying, I can't be for sure if that's what this is. You'll have to make a doctor's visit as I don't have the equipment to diagnose you. That is if Tammy here will allow you." He peers at her over his glasses and Tammy nods.
Xamani's jaw drops. "I know youn' believe that's a possibility! Do you even believe what I said Cherish did ta me?!"
Tammy doesn't say anything.
"This some bullcra-"
"Xamani!- go to my office."
Xamani smacks her teeth and proceeds to hop off the bed.
"I'm so sorry about her." Tammy apologizes as Xamani leaves the room. A few kids who were around had overheard the commotion and looks at Xamani weirdly as she walks down the hall.
"What y'all lookin' at?" She bucks at them. They quickly look away, minding their business. Xamani shoves her hands in her hoodie feeling her blade inside, and immediately closes her fist around it, drawing blood for the second time today. She was angered at the events that took place less than two hours ago, but more so angered that she didn't have any proof that Cherish really did anything to her.
When Tammy enters her office she shakes her head. "I can't believe you embarrassed me like that."
"I can't believe you took a old man's word ova' mine!"
Tammy sat at her desk. "He's a doctor."
"So?! Doctors make mistakes. They not always right."
"Nine times out of ten they are. So I'm going to schedule a doctors appointment for you-"
"Bruh, I did not HA-LLU-CI-NATE."
"Firstly, I'm not your bruh. And secondly, I never said you did, that's why you're going. Then we'll see if you really did." Before Xamani could snap back, Tammy spoke again. "Now that I think about it, didn't Cherish offer to take you to the hospital to get those same tests done?"
