Xamani throws a chip into her mouth as she watches Cherish pick out the material for her craft. Everything Cherish had bought for the activities already overcrowded the table on its own so she purposely left the food in the car.

The sun had gotten hotter and it was shining on Xamani's face. It didn't annoy her as much but even if it did she wouldn't have been able to tolerate sitting on Cherish's side. They'd probably get into a quarrel.

"This is my type of scene," Cherish says, opening the packet of popsicle sticks. "Getting fresh air is always a good energizer, a way for me to unwind too. Get away from the real world...if you get what I'm saying."

Xamani plops another chip in her mouth. "You a lie. This is not yo' scene."

Cherish raises her eyebrows. "And how can you be so sure?"

"Look at you," Xamani mumbles before digging in her can.

Cherish just laughs. "It's easy to judge a person off of their appearance, but that doesn't mean what you think about them is true."

Xamani rolls her eyes. "You really expect me ta believe you like ta spen' time in nature?"

"You don't have to believe me, because I believe actions speak louder than words."

"Meanin'?"

"Meaning that regardless what someone tells you about themselves, true or false, you'll see the real them eventually. And eventually," Cherish screws off the glue top and squirts some on a stick, "you'll see who I am the more we spend time together."

"...Whateva" Xamani subconsciously looks down and spots the crystal around Cherish's neck. Her face deadpans."Dude, don't tell me you one of them." Xamani's eyes are stuck on the clear-looking rock hanging from Cherish's neck. She did not fool around with hoodoo, voodoo, magic rocks, spirituality, etc. She didn't even let her mind get curious when it came to those things. Recently it's been trending all over social media and Xamani thought these people were insane. If satan came up and started selling the newest designer clothes one person would where it, call it an aesthetic, and then everyone else would follow along so they could fit in, but in reality, they were just feeding into the demonic bullshit, Xamani knew that much.

Cherish looks at Xamani with concern as she blows her first wall of sticks. "What do you mean?"

"That thing 'round yo neck. I know witches and stuff be messin' with that."

Cherish looks down at her necklace. "My crystal?"

"Duh."

"This isn't bad," Cherish says. Xamani didn't directly say that crystals were bad but Cherish knew what she was getting at.

"Yes, it is. I saw on YouTube that I should stay away from stuff like that 'cause it ain't good. Even in movies, I see them castin' curses on people and stuff."

"People say anything on YouTube. That doesn't mean it's true."

Xamani straight faces her. "Okay, so what do you do with it then?"
