Xamani woke up feeling good. She had no idea why but didn't question it. Everyone looked at her weirdly as she walked around the building with a pep in her step. Even Carleesa was confused, flabbergasted even.
She watched Xamani from afar on the court.
Xamani was playing basketball by herself, a smile on her face. Carleesa needed to figure out what was going on before Ashton saw her. Ashton was the only one who hadn't seen her like this yet. She was sick with something and was forced to stay isolated in her room. She seemed to be doing fine, though, when it came to the Xamani situation and all. She and Carleesa seemed to be getting closer from the outside looking in and Carleesa wanted to make sure it stayed that way because Ashton was hers.
She takes a deep breath before walking toward Xamani with her best smile. She begins clapping slowly when Xamani makes a shot. "You're really good."
Xamani's head snaps to her and Carleesa expects her to respond with a rude comment but is surprised when she only smiles at her. "Thanks, wanna play one-on-one?" She nudges her with a smirk. "I heard you pretty good."
Carleesa steps back. Was this really Xamani? "Umm-no I'm good. Where'd you hear that?"
"Actually, I neva heard dat. I just said it 'cause I rememba you and Ashton was gone play dat one time and you was talkin' like you was big and bad so I wanted ta see if you was really 'bout it." Xamani laughs.
"Oh..." Carleesa crosses her arms and watches Xamani take a shot.
"How is she anyway?"
"Ashton?"
"Duh, who else?"
"Oh, she's good." Carleesa pauses. This was a great opportunity to start some mess. "Great, actually. She's doing so much better without you around-no offense."
"Really? That's good."
Carleesa furrows her eyebrows. "Good?"
"Yeah, as long as she's happy it's coo'."
What? Carleesa thought. This had to be a joke. "Well... I'm glad you agree. Then...Then you wouldn't be mad if I told what she's been saying about you."
Xamani stops what she's doing, holding the ball between her side and arm with a frown. "Sayin' things 'bout me? Like what?"
Carleesa hides the smirk trying to form. "Oh, nothing too serious. Just that you were a horrible person who always tried to bring her down at any time possible. She told me the only reason she stayed around was because she felt bad for you since you didn't have friends and all. She's glad you guys had that fight, it did what she's been wanting to do."
"And what's dat?"
"End y'all's friendship." Carleesa gets ready for the screaming and attempted hitting but it never comes. Xamani just stood there, staring into the distance until she shrugged carelessly.
"I guess I deserved dat." She begins to bounce the ball before going for a layup.
"Wait? You're not mad?"
"Why would I be mad? I was a horrible person ta ha. I mean, I was there fa ha when she needed me but majority the time I was bein' the selfish person I am."
"W-What? That doesn't even make sense." Carleesa stomps her foot. "You're supposed to be angry. You're supposed to want to go and fight her."
