Chapter 13 - Bride

I always thought sushi was disgusting and overhyped but turns out it was the opposite, that was my first time having sushi and I was blown away, though I almost embarrassed myself with the chopsticks situation but that's a story for another day.

"Are you even listening to me?" Asked Susie, making me stop pushing more sushis into my mouth abruptly.

"I heard something like weeks" I replied as I drank some water, to which she sighed.

"Keep that thing and give me your attention" she demanded.

"Haba susie, remaining just two" I poured.

"You can eat it after you hear me out"

"But-"

"See, why do you like playing with my millions?"

I bursted into laughter "oya sorry, what is it?"

"thank you" she smiled "so," she spun her chair around and grabbed something that looked like an agreement, which she handed to me "lily Pulitzer reached out with a 2 years influencing deal, they offered 6 million naira and a year supply of their products, so all you have to do is post pictures or videos of you in their outfits once a week, maybe a try on haul or professional photo shoots, just something to perfectly advertise their brand and newest collection, are you in?"

"Do you even have to ask? Of course I am" she laughed at my excitement, just before we high fived.

Lily Pulitzer is one of the best upcoming brands in Nigeria, the northern part precisely, and is owned by one of my favorite Vloggers, Halima Sambo, daughter to a senator in Kano state, Nigeria. She started the brand about three years ago and it's safe to say that she's rapidly moving to the top, with her amazing collection of modest dresses and outfits to fit the needs of all. I loved her brand so much and had a few of her fashion pieces, including the long sleeved turtle neck top I was wearing at that moment, so obviously, hearing about that offer elated me.

"We'll Be meeting them tomorrow for the official contract signing and stuff like that, so please, na God I take beg you, remove your phone from silent mode" She was serious when she said that but it sounded funny to me, I tried not to laugh sha but I was not successful, which resulted in her smacking my arm, forcing me to be serious "they've sent the clothes already. 20 gowns, 20 two piece sets, 20 pajama sets and 20 turbans" she excused herself for a while and came back with 4 huge lily Pulitzer shopping bags which she placed on her table in front of me "you'll be receiving the same every month for a year, and remember, one photo or video per week, either YouTube or Instagram"

I just smiled "I love my job"

"and I love you for being such a badass at it" she winked, and we laughed again "Oh, one more thing,"

"What?"

"Don't hire any makeup artist or do it yourself, I made a deal with someone, she'll do it in exchange for a special shoutout on Instagram"

"I hope she's good"

"She is, i'll send you her details and portfolio a little later"

"Okay susie. Thank you, I'll see you tomorrow"

She smiled and waved at me before I carried my stuff and left the office. Sadly I ended up forgetting my last two sushis, and by the time I remembered I was already out of Wuse 2, so I couldn't go back to get it. I know it sounds embarrassing but have you tasted that sushi? No right? So I rest my case.
