Hafeez

"can you guys please listen to me? This is actually very serious amma kun zo kun sa ni a gaba kuna dariya!"

It had been going on for 30 whole minutes. I was caught in a web with not a single idea of what to do, but all they've done from the beginning is laugh, at what exactly? I don't know.

I even wonder what went into my head and made me think that asking Sadiq and Anas for advice was a good idea.

"Okay okay," Anas managed to control his laughter, but the other hyena still carried on "I'm Listening. what exactly do you want to say?"

"Aya has been proved innocent," I started.

"Well, look who's finally on the obvious train" Anas smirked.

"Me I don't even know the kind of 'I told you so' to say to him" that was Sadiq, he finally got to stop laughing too.

"Let me finish!" I shut them up "Yes, she has been proved innocent, but I still didn't do anything wrong.......right?"

"What kind of question is that?" Anas shot me a glare "of course you did. Ai ka ma fi kowa laifi, And to make things worse, you still want to defend yourself"

"I'm not being defensive, I just want people to understand that I didn't do anything wrong, yes it wasn't what I thought it was but it's not my fault that the pictures were very misleading"

"How do you understand the word defensive?" He asked. But I remained silent, for some reason I didn't know how to explain "ka gani koh? But When I call you an Olodo now you won't let us hear word"

"He Just wants to escape from anything that'll prove that he was wrong because he knows that's exactly what he is" Sadiq chipped in "he'd rather make a fool out of himself than to admit his mistake, nothing new there"

I hissed in annoyance "The two of you are absolutely useless"

"because we won't lick your ass and agree to everything you do or say right?" Anas raised an eyebrow "kasan Allah, you better drop this habit of yours if you want to progress in your life, a mistake is a mistake, it's not some kind of shame symbol that'll follow you around for the rest of your life. Did you kill somebody? No! Did you get somebody's wife pregnant? No! You just made a hasty decision, what's so hard to admit there?" he pointed out "We all make mistakes Hafeez, the only differences between us are what we choose to do after we make the mistake, how we see the mistake and how we handle the situation" I listened so curiously.

"I Don't know what you see it as, But Admitting to a mistake simply means refusing to use other people as scape-goats Just to avoid shouldering the responsibility of your actions, it means allowing yourself to know that you're imperfect and that you'll never ever be perfect" Said Sadiq "It won't kill you to admit that you're wrong for once in your life, you'll still be that fine, hot and stinking rich stud you are, it won't take anything from you except your childishness, which will be replaced by maturity"

"Ah Toh!" Anas agreed "you can't always be right, and you need to understand that you're a grown ass man, you can't depend on people to tell you wether you're right or wrong, use your brain and act your age! Ego and pride won't take you anywhere"

That hit home. HARD!

They were right, I've never been one to admit my mistakes, I hated that more than anything because I thought it was a shameful thing to do, I thought it meant that I was weak, and being weak was the one thing I've always hated, I couldn't even picture myself as a weak person, talk more of actually living that life, so I chose to grow this...tough skin, which is a huge wall between me and seeing things as they actually are. Not to be defensive, but it's not my fault, I've never really had anyone tell me the truth as naked as this, people just did everything I wanted them to and they supported me in all of my bad decisions, I don't know why exactly but it has always been like that. It's only Sadiq and Anas who have the guts to confront me, that's why we fight a lot, because they tell me the truth, something I'm not used to, so I just see it as disrespect.
