Aya

Every morning usually started with me on my comfy bed, in my comfy pajamas, having a time of my life. But that morning was different, Yes I was on my comfy bed, Yes I was in my comfy pajamas, but I was as weak as a slow WiFi, the room smelled like antiseptics for some reason and there was a drip attached to my hand.

I do not know how I ended up like that, all I remember was suddenly feeling light headed and then everything went blank, which may or may not be because I kept trying to convince myself that I was okay. In my defense, I really thought that I could do it, I knew I was far from okay but I thought I could force myself to be, And well...that led us here.

I woke up with a terrible migraine that made my eyes fill to the brim with tears, but Alhamdulillah as my eyes adjusted to the bright light, it got a lot better.

"....can't they just pour it into a cup and give me to drink?" I rhetorically Asked, referring to the drip that was taking forever to exhaust "I have somewhere to go wallahi"

"Does it look like orange juice to you?" Hafeez raised an eyebrow in response "Olodo"

I gasped "must you insult me?"

"Must you ask stupid questions?"

"I Was asking Asma, not you!"

Asma, who was busy chuckling turned to look at me "I would've said the same thing too Dimples, cuz ah! How can you ask if you can drink saline?"

"It was a rhetorical question!" I defended.

"Rhetorical What?"

"A question that doesn't need an answer because the person asking already knows the answer before asking" I explained "I wasn't actually expecting an answer"

"So then why did you ask?" By the look on her face, I knew she was very confused.

I was about to respond but was interrupted by a doctor and Layla coming into my room. The doctor was happy to see me making so much progress, but Layla was glaring at me for a reason maybe she can explain to all of us.

"Do you feel any pain anywhere, madam?" The doctor asked with a small smile.

"No" I replied.

"Do you feel dizzy or fatigued?"

Dizziness, no, but fatigue, definitely. I wasn't gonna let her or anyone know that though because I had to go out, so again, I just shook my head "no"

"Okay then I guess there's nothing to worry about, you seem perfectly fine" she smiled

"She has been perfectly fine from the very start, she just wanted attention, as usual" Layla suddenly spoke and hissed afterwards, to which I just raised an eyebrow.

"ha'an! Ya layla what's this about?" A confused Asma Asked.

Layla ignored her and turned to Hafeez "can I go please? I have things to do"

"Am I holding you?" Between the reply and the facial expression he had on when giving her the reply, I don't know which one sweet me pass. She too was a bit shocked but tried her best to hide it and just left.
