"Up, up, up!" Molly is yelling in my ear. I groan and cover my head with my pillow. She is already dressed and her hair and makeup is done. I can tell she is excited to see Jack. But, instead of jumping out of bed like I ought to have done, I lie still and frown. I can't get what Jack J said out of my head. If it is true, I should warn Molly. I want her to be happy; but I don't want her to get hurt.
I finally drag myself out of bed and into the shower at half eightish (the boys asked to meet for breakfast early) then I get dressed. I throw on a white shirt and denim shorts then put on my leather sandals. I let my brown waves loose over my shoulders then briskly do my makeup. After a quick glimpse of myself in the mirror, we are out the door and knocking on Nash and Cam's room. I bang on their door and wait for someone t let us in. Cam opens the door, his hair messy and lets us in. Nash is still sleeping and Hayes is sitting on the opposite bed on his phone.
"Shh." He motions to us then hands me something. A can of shaving cream.
"SMACK CAM!" I yell as I slap my hand full of having cream on to Nash's cheek. His eyes burst open and his eyebrows furrow as he looks at me with disgust.
"What the hell? What is your problem? Are you stupid?" He yells and I back away from him.
"Nash calm down." Cam says and puts his hands on my shoulders.
"Shut up Cam." Nash screams and I move towards the door. Hayes follows me with Molly. I turn around to face a seething Nash and, instead of going full on rage mode, I calmly tilt my head up and say, "You've changed Nash."
...
We leave Nash in his room and head down to the café in the hotel. We join the others in a booth and I share a croissant with Molly. Nash's weird reaction has given me a weird feeling in my stomach. When I see Molly and Jack G all over each other I put down my food and rest my head in my hands. Everyone must realise I am in a mood because they are all looking my way.
"What?" I say when I see their eyes on me.
"I need to talk to you Soph." Hayes motions to me. I get up and follow him outside where a breeze ruffles my hair. I breath in and out, trying not to burst into tears as he sits next to me.
"Hayes, why is Nash so... negative towards me?" I ask. I don't expect a straight answer but I ask anyway, for the hell of it.
"Sophie, there's something I should have told you." He says, and my heart races, half in excitement, half in fear. "When I came back to North Carolina and I saw you on that first night, I don't know what happened but I just kinda, fell for you. And when we got home Nash clocked so he told me to ask you out. I was going to ask you but then Megan came back. I hadn't seen Megan since, I don't know how long. And I have always had a thing for Megan. So when we were arguing I just went for Megan because I knew I couldn't have you. Then you got together with Tanner and Nash found out and he seems to think that you said no to going out with me? I tried to explain to him but he won't listen."
"Hayes... I don't know what to say." I am lost for words. Is Nash seriously this childish? I frown and think about what Hayes said. I can't believe he actually liked me. I mean, like liked me. Then I remember Tanner. He hasn't called or texted me in two days and he usually texts me in the morning. I don't want to seem pushy by texting him first so I decide to leave it and turn back to Hayes.
"I thought it was something, well... serious." I say quietly.
"No big deal." He shrugs me off sadly. I get up to go finish my food and as I go, I turn and say to him, "Hayes, I'm still here if I ever break up with Tanner and you break up with Megan."
...
We arrive at the venue to crowds of screaming fans. Molly and I manage to get out of the car without too much hassle but the boys get caught up signing stuff and taking pics.
"Come on, let's go take out seats. We can meet the guys after their meet and greet." We go over to the door to the main stage and the man scans our tickets. Just as we are about to enter the room, he pulls us back and tells us we have been upgraded to VIP for after the show. He hands us a VIP pass each and gives us instructions for afterwards. I grin excitedly at Molly and we run, hand in hand, towards the seating.
The show starts half an hour later and somehow we have been pushed to the front of the crowd. Jack G runs on to introduce the other guys and I see Molly looking up at him in awe. I guess they are cute together but after everything with Hayes I can't concentrate on the show. The boys run on and the crowd goes mental. I am shoved right against the barrier and my arms are dangling over the edge. Cam spots me and Molly and waves at us so we wave and scream back at him.
The boys mess around on stage, dancing, singing and doing vines. They have pulled up a few fans and are having a lipgloss dance competition. I laugh when Hayes starts twerking with another fan. He spots me and grins so I smile back. All of a sudden Jack G is waving his hands at me and Molly. I turn to Molly ho shrugs her shoulders.
"What?" I mouth to him and suddenly Taylor and Aaron are pulling us on to the stage.
"Say hi to our friends everyone!" Jack yells into his microphone. The crowd screams and I blink under the harsh stage lights. The boys sit us down on the stage and Shawn pulls up a stool. He grabs his guitar and starts singing one of his songs. Rest my head on my hands and watch him. I feel someone sit next to me and turn to see Hayes. He smiles gently and I relax.
...
"OMG! You guys are soooo lucky! I wish I could have gone n stage!" We are standing in line to meet the boys and some girl in front has begun talking to us. I'm not bothered by what she has to say but she carries on yapping about the boys.
"I can't wait to meet the Shawn but my friend Alicia – Alicia meet these guys – she wants to meet Jack G." Mollys head whips round when she hears his name. I take a look at Alicia and see, not only is she tanned, curvy and blonde, she is also the prettiest girl I have ever seen.
The line moves up and Alicia and her friend beginning meeting the boys. The first two are Taylor and Hayes. They take a few pics then move along as instructed. Molly and I run over to them and we hug each other. I take a couple of selfies with Taylor and then Hayes makes a quick vine then we move along again. We stop at Shawn and Matt and repeat the routine. That's when I hear Molly gasp. I look where she is staring and see, down the line of boys, Jac G has his hand on Alicia's ass. He is whispering in her ear and she giggles, obviously flirting.
Matt, Shawn and I all turn to Molly who has turned bright red. Tears are shining in her eyes. She takes a deep breath then, as if nothing happened, she wipes her tears away and we contined with the meet and greet. However when we get to the Jacks, Molly goes up to Jack G, myself and Jack J both anticipating what is to come. She walks right up to his face and, in a voice so quiet I can barely make it out, she whispers, "fuckboy."
I snicker and she grabs my hand.
"We are leaving." She states and drags me out of the room, out of the door and flags down a taxi. We arrive at the hotel minutes later and we go up to our rooms and collect our stuff. We check out then go round to the car park and get in the car. After a moments silence, Molly breathes out then, like a volcano erupting, she bursts into a fit of tears.
