I walk in and I see two men, one on each side of the battle field. One of them looks familiar, I squint to get a closer look, it's Andrew! "This gym battle is over," I hear a familiar voice. I look to the side of the battlefield and see that it's Flint, he seems to be the referee for this battle. "The victor is Andrew Spano from Pallet Town!"

"Congrats Andrew." I say, while slowly clapping my hands.

"Oh, hey DJ how you doin'." Andrew responds, returning his pokemon. I caught a glimpse of it before it returned to its pokeball. It had a blue body with only feet and had grass growing from its head.

"Nothin' much, just got here." I responded.

"Ah, I see." Andrew says.

"HaHA," Flint laughs out loud. "Long time no see DJ."

"Ello Flint," I say while grabbing his hand, now shaking it. "I'm here to challenge this gym."

"Hmmph," I hear the guy I assume Andrew just fought against. "Is this the guy you were talking about dad?" Dad, Flint is the gym leader's father?! Is this what Flint meant by 'say hi to my son'? I just have so many questions. The guy comes walking up to me, he looks a lot like Flint except he is a lot younger. He reaches out his hand; "Welcome to the Pewter City gym, I'm Brock."

"Nice to meet you Brock, I'm DJ." I responded while shaking his hand.

'I'll watch the battle in the stands, DJ." Andrew informs me while pointing upwards with his thumb. He goes up a flight of stairs. "Good luck!"

"Thanks man." While I say this, I noticed there are already people up in the stands, almost all of them being kids of various ages, and almost all of them looking like Brock and Flint except one who had red hair and looked kinda scrawny. There are nine kids in total in the stands. Andrew sits next to them, arms crossed.

"Give me a few minutes to heal my pokemon in the back," Brock informs me. "Then we can begin our battle."

"Of course, take your time." I say. Brock walks off, and I look at the battlefield studying it. It seems to be made with a bunch of rocks, both huge and tiny, scattered all around. The gym itself seems pretty dark, with the exceptions of a few lights which highlight the battlefield. I walk over to the side of the battlefield Andrew was on, I start stretching feeling more nervous by the second. I look at the stands and almost all the kids are staring at me, the red-haired one is glaring at Andrew. Andrew pulls out a wad of gum and starts chewing while smirking at me. The red-haired kid noticed this and looked at me, but didn't seem impressed.

"I see that you're looking ready to battle," Brock says while coming back from the other room. "This gym match will be two versus two, whoever has pokemon still standing at the end will be declared the winner, understood?!"

"Understood." I responded.

Flint walks to the side of the battlefield, looks at both Brock and I. He crosses his arms; "As Brock, the Pewter City gym leader has explained, this will be a two versus two!" Flint begins to t-pose pointing at Brock and I with his hands; "The Battle will begin once both trainers throw out their pokemon!"

"I choose you, Squirtle!" I shout while throwing Squirtle's pokeball.

"Geodude, come on out!" Brock shouts, tossing his pokemon's pokeball. A gray, with black spots on top of its head, rock shaped pokemon came out. It only had arms and was slightly floating in the air. I get out my pokedex and look at what it says, but it shows a slightly different pokemon. It looks the same but the color of it is off, the one in the pokedex shows a light brown one while the one in front of me is grey. Brock notices my perplexed face while I kept looking up at his Geodude and the one in the pokedex; "This Geodude is from the Alola region and is an electric and rock type, the one you see in your pokedex is a Kantonian Geodude which is a rock and ground type!"
