Chp. 7) Destination: Vermillion!

Early the next morning, I woke up and looked outside the window. I see that the sun isn't up yet. I get up from my bed and grab my hoodie and my pokemon. I walk out of the room and close the door behind me, making sure that I don't wake up Lenny who is still asleep. I then walk outside the Cerulean pokemon center and head to a fountain. I sit down on the ledge and hold my pokemon's pokeballs, while listening to Bounce Back by Rustage, and stare at all of them. Some time passes, and I can feel the warmth of the sun rising on my neck. I remember the tm that Bill gave me, and pulled out my pokedex. I checked the move's description, and the pokedex lets me know that hidden power could be any type of move. I see that all my pokemon can learn it right now, but decide to only give it to Nidoran and Wartortle. I'm sure I'll find out what type their hidden power is soon.

"SMASH!" I hear the sound of glass breaking suddenly. I ran over to where the noise came from, and I found the Cerulean police department with the front windows of the building being shattered. A bunch of people were getting out of their houses and the department sirens started to go off. It started getting crowded and an officer told us to go back home. I head back to the pokemon center and grab myself a donut. Once I'm done eating, I grab some toast with jam and a hard boiled egg for Lenny. I take the food back into the dorm and put the plate of food on Lenny's nightstand. He wakes up to the sound of me placing the plate on the nightstand. I turn on the small television in our dorm, and I immediately see that there is a news report about the police department.

"Breaking news; Cerulean City's Officer Jenny has a report about the police department's situation this morning!" The news lady said while pointing at a monitor. The screen moves towards the monitor, and zooms into it, transitioning to Officer Jenny with a microphone up to her face.

"Earlier this morning, the Cerulean City police department was broken into," Jenny says. "After searching to see if anything was missing, we noticed that the police department's tms were gone!" The screen cuts to the inside of the police department right after saying this. "We have reason to believe that this is the doing of Team Rocket, if anyone sees anyone suspicious, please report it to us at the Cerulean City police department!" It cuts back to Officer Jenny, now bowing her head down. "Thank you for being patient with us, and we appreciate anyone's help!"

I turned off the television and looked towards Lenny, who just finished eating his toast. I then got up and started packing my things. I checked my phone to see how charged it was, it was at full battery. Lenny and I got everything packed up and we checked out of the pokemon center's dorms. We made our way south of Cerulean City, passing by the fountain I was at earlier this morning. Shortly, we make it to the border of Cerulean City and Route Five. I saw a figure of a person who seemed to be holding a bag over his shoulder. Lenny and I ran towards the person, soon I realized that the person was wearing clothing similar to what Team Rocket was wearing when we encountered them at Mt. Moon.

"Hey!" I yelled trying to get the guy's attention. He turned around and looked at us, revealing that his hat had a red R on it. He saw us and started sprinting, Lenny and I chased after him. Very soon we made it to a gate that leads to Saffron City, but the Team Rocket grunt ran towards a smaller building that was next to the gate. He went inside and Lenny and I kept pursuing him. We got inside of the building, which had a stairway leading underground. I went down the stairs since it was the only place the Rocker grunt could've gone, Lenny followed right behind me. We head down the stairs and are now in an extremely long hallway. I see the man who seems to be catching his breath with his left hand on the wall. The Team Rocket grunt sees us and grabs a pokeball from his side.

"Koffing, give me some cover with smokescreen!" The grunt said while throwing the pokeball. A purple floating pokemon appears and starts shooting out gas from the holes in its body.
