TM 10

Lyra's POV
-/-I ran into the dining room, pulled a chair out and sat on it immediately.
"I win!" I called out. Brooke and I had been having a race, it was pretty close, as she had just arrived. I breathed deeply to try to slow my beating heart. Fitness, everyone. Brooke sat next to me, puffing.
"You had a head start!" She complained.
"Phhhh..." I looked around the room, it was mostly red and gold, the walls were sort of like glass but not, they were smooth. There was a huge table, which Brooke and I were sitting at, it had about 20 seats. There was a huge golden seat at the end, which I assumed was for Trott. There were plates and cutlery laid out on the table in front of us. I heard crinkling as Brooke folded up her map and put it in her pocket. Oh yeah, we'd changed earlier.
"Thank god we had these." Brooke said.
"I know right, this place is huge." It was f*cking ginormous, excuse my French. It was so awesome that they had signs above doors, too. That helped not getting lost. I loved the different coloured rooms and hallways, too.
"So glad I didn't join in your race." Melissa commented, coming into the room with Melody and Becky.
"Why? It's fun!" Brooke told them.
"Yeah, because exercise is fun." Becky stated. True. Through softball is a lot of fun. Then Trott, Ross, Smiff, Leo, those weird haired guys, Dan, Phil(it still feels weird saying that), Percy, Annabeth(Becky was ranting about them), Cleo, Chelsea and two people who Melissa squealed at arrived.
They all sat down, and I was surprised to find Dan sitting next to me. Of course he was sitting next to Phil, which made my inner fangirl flutter. I felt Brooke squeeze my arm, she felt the same way. Stupid fandoms.
I asked Cleo and Chelsea how they were doing and Ross started laughing again. Well, a story needs to be told there.
These weird sort of see through creatures came and served our dinner. Pumpkin soup. Yum. I waited, expecting grace or something, but Trott just said 'dig in'. My friends also had waited, but eh.
I striked up a conversation with Dan, and it ended up being a full on debate about racism and sexism. I won the debate and he agreed eventually that we all needed to punish those stupid racist b- ahem.
Brooke was having an in depth discussion with Trott about the castle and town. Apparently the 'peasants' as Trott affectionately called them, stayed in the town because their secrets had been exposed and they wanted a safe place to live. Brooke was interested in who was living in the village and what powers they had, I tuned out. I was more interested in this lovely cheesecake and the Phan conversation going on beside me. They were talking about when they first met and I'm here like 'I'm so interested in my food and I'm totally not listening to my otp talking. Nooo why would I do that?'.
After everyone had finished their meal, we walked back to our rooms. Well, Brooke and I jogged back, we were sharing a room, next to Melody and Melissa, while Becky was by herself. Poor Becky.
I walked into the room, feeling hyper since we had fizzy drink. Brooke and I started jumping on the two double beds, having a pillow fight. We were laughing hysterically. Melissa and Becky joined us at some point. I guess Melody was too sensible to drink soft drink, she probably just drank water.
"Hey, hey I got a joke. A man got hit in the head with some lemonade, he was lucky it was soft drink." I sniggered. We all laughed even harder and then someone else joined us, I think it was Chelsea but I couldn't be quite sure. I was kind of forgetting what the hell we were doing, everything was sort of in a haze. I think we were all still jumping on the beds. At some point, we must have collapsed on the beds and fallen asleep, because in the morning, I was woken up by a Ross laughing his head off(not literally).
"Lesson of the day, don't give girls soft drink."

Cleo's POV
-/-After the dinner, in which I sat next to Smiff(Chelsea kept elbowing me and raising her eyebrows), and talked about a lot of weird shit, I went into my room and started hearing really loud laughter from downstairs. Oh well, I changed into my provided pyjamas and snuggled under the covers, wow that laughter was loud. With what was obviously my friends laughter ringing in my head, I drifted off to sleep.
I had a really weird dream. It started out nice, with Smiff. But then I saw Emma and then Emma morphed into a person I never wanted to see again. Then... His mouth opened and became bigger and bigger until I woke up. The comforting laughs had stopped. I was alone and scared. I got up and opened the door, bringing the torch that was in the bedside table and my map. I knocked on Chelsea's door, no answer. I opened it and shone the light on her bed to see she wasn't there, she probably went downstairs earlier. Now that I think about it, they drank soft drink. Glad I'm not part of that. They didn't have any Fanta at dinner, anyway.
After consulting my map, I decided to go and see Smiff. Though I would not tell Chelsea. Shh it's a secret. I wandered through the high ceilinged hallways, it was so creepy and dark, the lights switch off at about ten according to Smiff, so at least I had a knowledge that it was after ten.
After getting lost twice, ending up back at the throne room once, and various sets of stairs, I finally managed to find Smiff's room. I knocked on the door and heard a moan and a 'who is it?'.
"It's Cleo." I heard the bed creak and footsteps padding over to the door. It opened and a wild Smiff appeared. He had pooffy bed hair and he was rubbing his eyes.
"You woke me up from a good dream so it better be important." He joked.
"Um... This is gonna sound pathetic but I had a bad dream and all my friends are somewhere else." He looked surprised, as if he wouldn't be the next person I would go to.
"Ah, no, it's fine. Come in." I blushed as I walked in, though I doubt he could see it with just the moonlight shining through the window. "I get a great view." He said, gesturing towards the window. "Come out onto the balcony." I was pulled outside. It was quite cold. I gasped as I saw the amazing, and I mean amazing view.
You could see the stars, oh so many stars, up in the sky. I guess this is what the normal world would look like without all the pollution. I could also see the town in the distance. I did notice some of the buildings had colour drained away from them. I'll ask about that later.
"It's beautiful." I breathed.
"Yeah." I don't think he was looking at the view. I blushed and shivered and he put his arm around me. Mmm. Warm. We shall say nothing to Chelsea, okay?
"What about our parents though? Will they notice we've gone?" I asked.
"Nah, not if you time it right. We used to have a guy who had the power of forgetting, he helped a lot. He's gone now."
"What do you mean, gone?"
"Well, either gone in the head or gone over to the dark side."
"Dark side? I don't think I'm ready for war."
"You don't have to if you don't want to. I bet some of your friends will though. Come on, it's cold out here." He guided me back inside. I sat down on the bed. Great. Do. Not. Tell. Chelsea. Okay.
"What was your dream about? If you don't mind me asking." He sat down next to me.
"Just a thing from my past. It still hurts and haunts me." He held his arms out and I hugged him.
"It's okay. Remember, if it's not okay it's not the end." I chuckled at the cheesiness of that comment. "What? It's true!"
Somehow I ended up drifting off to sleep in the warmth of his arms. Eurgh. No, I must not fall for him. Yet.
Yet.
