(warning: rape)

(Joyce's POV)

Joyce woke up, moderately excited. Today, the Police Department was getting a new detective. She was glad Hop would have another person to help him with cases, and maybe that could mean she could have more time to be with him.
She turned to wake him up, though found that his place in bed was empty. This would make her freak out if she couldn't also see him putting his uniform on
"Morning." She sat up in the bed, trying to fix her hair lazily
"Morning." Hop finished with his last button, then came back over to the bed and gave her a kiss
"You excited?" She asked him as she slowly started to get up and put on her clothes
"Ah, yes! Finally another detective! I wish it were you, but if they do their job, then they're alright."
She smirked as she finished putting on her work shirt, then came over and gave him a kiss, "You're a dork. Come on, we have to get the kids up."
Three kids up and one almost burnt breakfast later, Jonathan was driving Will and El to school, and Hop was driving the two of them to work
As Hop parked outside of the Police Department, he asked her, "Do you wanna come in and meet them?"
"Sure!" She responded enthusiastically
She and Hop went inside, where there was the new detective, a skinny blonde woman that kinda reminded her of a meaner-looking version of Karen
"Hi, you must be the new detective." Hop shook the woman's hand, though she was giving him an odd look. Maybe it was just her, but she didn't like it.
"Yes, Belle." Belle said, holding onto Hopper's hand for way to long
"Well, Belle, it's good to have you on board." Hopper awkwardly said, definatly feeling the same way she did about the handshake
"W-Who's-" Belle pointed to her
"Oh-That's my girlfriend." Hopper smiled and looked trying to make her feel better. She always felt a bit insecure, but with Belle being so beautiful, it made her feel worse.
"Yeah-I'm probably going to go." Se muttered, and walked straight out the door, leaving Hop, though she wanted to stay and make sure Belle wouldn't try and take her boyfriend. Great news was, she'd taken her meds that morning, so she didn't have a full on panic attack about this. Almost, but didn't.
She tried to shrug it off, since Hop was an adult, and could deal with it on his own, even if she was flirting, and just went to work.

(Hopper's POV)

"Well, Belle, since it's your first day, you're gonna be working on a case with me. That okay?" He asked Belle as he walked her to his office. So far, he wasn't sure how to feel about her. She'd been giving him an odd look, and she'd made Joyce nervous, but he was sure she was just new.
"Sure." Belle tucked some of her sorta fake-looking bangs behind her ears. Wait...He'd seen Joyce do that...was she flirting with him? No, that was impossible. She'd seen Joyce, she knew he had a girlfriend. No one was that much of a monster
"O-Okay, so, here's the file, go over it, and meet me and a few others at Danford Creek, okay?"
"-Others?" Belle asked shyly. Ah, she wasn't flirting, she was just nervous.
"Don't worry, there nice, mostly." He chuckled, "You'll be okay, just stick with me."
He was starting to think that she was okay. There was no way she was flirting with him, right?
They were going out of his office when her hand (probably accidentally) passed over his butt
"Oh-Sorry..." She muttered, though with a huge grin, then rushed passed him. That was, to say the least, weird.
The second they arrived at the scene and started to work, he could tell the confusion wasn't going to stop. She kept giving him odd looks and grins, the same way woman at the bar used to look at him. Was this all in his head? Maybe she wasn't doing those things. Maybe he was just imagining it. He knew he wouldn't find an answer on his own, so he went somewhere where he knew would have the answer, Melvands, more specifically, Joyce.
"Hey Joycie!" He called to her when he stepped into Melvands at 12:15, Joyce's lunch break
"Hey." She answered unenthusiastically, continuing to label dog food
"D-so you wanna have lunch?" He asked, though confused why she wasn't happy about seeing him. At least he could get to the bottom of this one by himself
"Sure."
They claimed their usual bench, and began to eat in silence, Joyce not even looking at him
"How's work been?" He asked
"Good." She said
"Hey, are you okay?" He asked her, "You've been acting strange."
"Yeah..." Joyce sighed, "It's just-Belle was giving you weird look earlier-I was just worried-and she's so pretty..."
"Not as pretty as you, Joyce." He assured her, and taking her hand into his for comfort, "I don't like her like that, don't worry. I'm her boss, she just felt awkward. Also, I think she just might be a little weird all together, don't worry."
Was he gonna tell her what happened earlier? No. Why? Well, he was sure it'd just make her worry more, and it was just an accident.
He hung around for another half hour, not too eager to go back to work. I mean, why would he sign a bunch of papers when he could be with Joyce? But Joyce made him go back, saying that 'the city was gonna go to hell if you spend too much time with me', so he did, grinning all the way. Joyce always had a way of lifting his spirits.

(Joyce's POV)

She scrubbed the floors of Melvands, with the tracks that had been left when some stupid hunter had come in seeming like they'd never come off, thinking of Hop. What was Belle up to? She seemed to be flirting with her boyfriend, that made her mad. Jesus, she couldn't even remember the last time she'd been jealous. She wasn't even sure if she'd even been jealous before, but Belle seemed to be perfect, or at least hot, she was scared she might have a scheme planned to get Hopper to herself.
I mean, why wouldn't he want to date her? She's so much better than you. Her anxiety rang in her ears
Shut up. He would've spent lunch with her if he really wanted her I argued back
"Hey Joyce!" She heard Karen call her name as she came into the store, which put a rest to the fight going on in her head
"Hey Karen." She replied, not looking up from the floor, only setting the mop aside
She must've not been hiding her feelings enough, cause Karen asked her, "What's wrong? Something happen in paradise?"
She sighed, not even taking in the joke, "Yeah. There's this new girl at the Police Department, Belle. I think she's been flirting with Hop."
"Oh yeah, she totally would do that. She's been like, pining after him for months. She just came back from California-she was there training-and's been like, super jealous of you." After Karen noticed that her story made her feel worse, she added, "But Hop loves you! He wouldn't, Joyce."
"But she's hot!" She exclaimed, "Also, how do you know any of this?"
"I'm nosy, you know that!" Karen teased, then turned into something that she could only describe as mom mode, took her hands and said, "Joyce, trust me. She isn't that hot! You're naturally beautiful, and she looks like she's just gotten a lot of plastic surgery done. Hopper loves you, Joyce. I've never seen anyone more in love, ever. Trust me."
"You think?"
"I'm sure."
Karen had to leave a few minutes later, but her visit had lifted her spirits. She was right. Hop loved her, he wouldn't leave her for some blondie, right?

(Hopper's POV)

He let out a sigh as he finished signing another piece of paperwork. He knew it was his job, but god was his job boring sometimes!
As he was about to start on the next page, Belle came in and placed some finished work on his desk
"The files you wanted, Chief." She said
"Thank you, detective." He said, then when she didn't leave, asked, "Is there something else you need?"
"Actually, there's a question I wanted to ask you. That woman and you, are you two like-serious-or-"
He sighed and stood up, trying to keep it obvious that he was her boss with just his posture, "Belle-look"
He didn't ever get to finish that sentence, because one second later, he was shoved up against the wall, being kissed by Belle.
He tried to push her off, but his wrists were the part of him being held on the wall. Suprisenly, she was strong.
Belle stopped kissing for a second, and grinned, "Admit it, you'd rather be with me than her."
She started to go for his neck, but he jerked his head away, trying to form a sentence, "N-No! I-I can report you! I-I'm your boss!"
Belle chuckled menacingly, "You don't wanna do that. Do that, and I'll tell everyone you made me. That you attacked little old me and forced me to be your mistress."
"They'll never believe you." He argued
She tilted her head, "Wouldn't they? It'd only be your word against mine."
He tried to balance it out. If he let her, though every cell of him hated the idea, he'd get to keep his family happy and his life normal, or at least a little normal. He just didn't want to hurt Joyce.
"Fine. Just-please-don't hurt my family."
Belle smirked, "Good boy."
He closed his eyes, and let her do what she wanted. He hated every touch she gave him, but he knew what would happen if he tried to stop it.
"That's all." Eventually, Belle stopped torturing him, and got up off him and left.
He let out a sigh, and noticed how much of a mess she'd made him. He fixed his uniform, replaying everything that'd just happened. He wanted to scream, throw something, run to Joyce. Or just run. Run away from everything that had happened that day.
He chugged down the bottle of water that had been sitting on his desk for days. He tried to rid his mouth of any hint of what had happened.
"Chief?" Flo knocked on his door and peaked in
"What?" He snapped. Too much pain was going through his head to even care that he was being rude
"Jesus, I just came in to give you another report." Flo sighed, and threw a file onto his desk
"Sorry." He muttered as she closed the door
He spent the rest of the day as you would expect him to, sulking in his room while his job forced him to write report after report.
"Chief?" Flo cautiously opened his door, scared since last time
"Yeah?"
"Your shifts over. You're lucky I haven't sent Joyce over, but now I'm forcing you to go home." Flo smirked at him
He faked a small laugh, "Okay, okay, I'm going."
Flo left him alone, and he, gloomily and, for once, not excited to go home. His kids and girlfriend would be happy, hopefully having had a better day than him, and he would be there, guilty, having been forced against his wall and kissed by Belle.
He walked to Melvands, just praying that Joyce didn't notice anything. He couldn't lose her. He loved Joyce too much, so if she had to be in the dark and if he had to be raped to keep her safe and happy, he would do that.
"Hey!" Joyce grinned as he stepped in, the bell ringing above the door
"Hey." He tried to make his smile look real, and came over to the counter where she was standing
"Did you have a good day?" She asked him, with a kiss on the cheek
"Yeah." He lied, and looked away just in case there was any hint of him faking it in his eyes
"You okay?" Joyce asked him, taking his hand, and got his eyes to turn and fall back on hers
"Yeah." He said automatically
"O-Okay, just checking." Joyce stepped out from behind the counter and took his arm around hers, "Ready to go?"
"Yeah."
As he sat in the car, Joyce driving, he tried not to look at her. He wanted to tell her what happened, cry into her shoulder, or at least kiss her to get the terrible taste of Belle off his lips, but that felt even worse. He felt like he didn't deserve it. He loved her, and in some way, he'd betrayed her.
"Hey mom! Hey dad!" El grinned at him and Joyce as she and Will hopped into the car
"Hey guys!" Joyce turned to greet the kids from the front, "How was school?"
"It was good." They both answered
After that, he only half listened to the conversation, though gave the occasional 'I'm good' or 'It was fine'. He felt wrong for even being in that car. Because, even if Belle continued and didn't tell anyone her lies about what had happened, and was probably going to continue happening, he would always know that he hurt his family, that he did the wrong thing. All he wanted was to keep them oblivious to what had to be done to keep them safe, no matter what.
There was still a part of him that was worried Belle might just tell them her lies anyway, not caring about their deal. But he knew that wasn't what was going to happen. She was going to use him in any way possible, and anytime he would try and stop her, she'd just continue to dangle her threat over his head.
All that night, he was completely shut off. He didn't speak nor listen unless he needed to. Too much was going on in his head to do either of those things, and, just to add to it, every thing the kids did, from smiling to laughing, seemed to, though he had no reason to, make him feel guilty. Belle had attacked him, yet he was the one that felt in the wrong
"Hey, are you okay?" Joyce asked later, as she was climbing into bed with him. He was starting to realize that maybe shutting off for hours was a bit too obvious and pointed to something being wrong
"Yeah, I'm just tired." He lied, adding a smile. "Don't worry."
"Well, Hop, I'm gonna worry." Joyce argued
"Then, there's no reason to. It's just been a long day, okay?"
'Okay." Joyce said, and laid down on his chest. Though it felt wrong, like he didn't deserve it, he knew it would be too obvious to ask her to get off, so he didn't
"Hey, you'd tell me if something's wrong, right?" Joyce looked up from her place on his body to him
"Yeah, don't worry." He answered. She was satisfied with that answer, proceeding to fall asleep soon after, but it took him a bit more time before drifting into sleep, and even then, nightmares of what Belle would do and Joyce leaving him came to his mind
