Hopper pulled himself through the disgusting atmosphere of the Upside Down. He had barely gotten out of Starcourt without almost getting eaten. He missed Joyce. He knew he had been an a jerk. He felt terrible. All he wanted to do was get back to her.
Luckily, he found his way to an area where he could take shelter for the night. He picked up what he prayed to god was a cloth, and covered himself and pulled out a radio, and started to turn the stations, trying to connect to someone
"Hello? Is anyone there? This is Chief Hopper, if anyone hears this, please get Joyce Byers." He sobbed at her name. He knew there was a huge chance that he would never hear her voice again and would never see her smile again. He quickly silenced himself in fear that a monster might hear him, then turned down the walkie and covered himself with the cloth and didn't get any sleep for a few hours until he finally drifted into dreams
"Hop! HOP!" Joyce screamed
"I'm here!" He tried to grab her, but he couldn't.
"DAD!" El called out. None of them could see him
"EL! JOYCE!" He screamed, but none of them could hear him
Suddenly, the scene changed. He saw Joyce holding a knife in her hand, crying.
"No, Joyce. Stop!" He knew what she was about to do. But he kept forgetting she couldn't hear him.
He watched in agony as he watched Joyce slice her veins open. He tried to close his eyes, but he was already asleep. But he was forced to watch Joyce kill herself in front of him.
He watched her fall on to the floor as she bled out, and that's when he couldn't handle it. He forced his eyes open.
He woke up in a sweat, panicked. He knew it was just a dream, but he would rather be in a the Upside Down where he could get eaten than watch Joyce cut herself. Was that real? Had she really done that?
He knew he couldn't think about it too much. He shoved his dream out of his head and went to try and find something he could use as a weapon. He knew most things wouldn't help, but they would be better than nothing. After wandering around, not knowing the god damn time, he found some sort of gun covered in vides. He ripped the vines off, praying they wouldn't attack him, and grabbed the gun.
He knew the small tent he barley fit in wouldn't keep him safe, so he decided to head to the one house he knew wasn't destroyed: Joyce's. Also, when Will disappeared she had said that he had communicated with her, so maybe he could figure something out. He started to walk, but then he heard growling behind him, and knew what it was. Demogorgon. Great.
He turned around to see a very familiar skinny, slimy body with a closed mouth face.
He began to shoot the monster, which repealed it, but he knew it would be back, so he ran as fast as he could through the Upside-Down version on Hawkins Town. He ran all the way to the Byers house, which brought back too many memories. He opened the door, and quickly scampered to one of the rooms
"Joyce. Joyce." He muttered, trying to make himself as soon as he could, tears in his eyes. He felt something break inside him. He began to cry harder than he ever had. He missed Joyce and El. He wanted someone to help him. He was going to die, and never see Joyce again.
He wiped his eyes, then realized how dark the room was. He could barely see anything. He didn't have a flashlight, and if he started a fire the vines would come for him, so he had to come up with something. He stepped out of the room, and began to wander around, eventually finding some moss-like plant that was glowing. He ripped a piece of his shirt off, picked it up, and brought it back to the room. He blocked the door and window off with some big plank. As he was collecting all this, he saw a dead deer, and though he knew it was disgusting, but he grabbed it and tried to figure out how to eat it until he ripped it open with a stick and attempted to eat it. It was terrible, but he knew if he didn't eat, he would die, so he ate. After 'lunch', he realized he was in Will's room. He took some of the pillows and blankets from Will's bed, ignoring the slime on them, and tried to make himself warm. He just wanted to go home.
Suddenly, he heard a loud growl from the outside. He quickly hid under the bed with his gun, praying that the planks kept the monster out.
As he thought that, the monster crashed through the planks. His heart stopped, trying not to breath. But the problem was that the monster wasn't leaving.
Maybe it'll just leave He jinxed himself, because at that moment, the Demogorgon threw the bed, revealing him lying there, curled up into a ball.
Quickly, he began to shoot it, trying to scare it or hopefully hurt it. It ran away thankfully, but he was too scared to come out. He covered himself, trying not to cry, and fell asleep by accident.
Suddenly, he woke up, gasping. He could barely breath. He realized he was stupid for not covering his mouth, so he ripped off a bit of his shirt and wrapped it around his mouth and nose. He realized it was probably dinner time or something, cause his stomach was rumbling. He ripped away a little bit of the deer, and bit down, grossed out about the amount of blood dripping down. At first, he thought it was coming from the deer, but then he realized he had giant claw marks on his arm. A monster must've gotten him. He knew he was going to end up destroying his shirt, but he ripped another patch and used it as a bandage.
"OH S-!" He exclaimed as he realized a vine was getting to his leg. He cut it off, and jumped on to the seat, trying not to die. He was so grateful he had a knife with him, or he would've died a long time ago.
He decided to go look for something that would hold the door shut so he could try and remember how to talk to Joyce. Something to do with lights? What was wrong with him?
Eventually, he found a piece of metal he knew was good enough, so he dragged it back to his hiding spot, praying he wouldn't get cut and get infected with something. He bordered the door to the house up, and tried to find something to do, but all he could do was mess with Will's walkie and try to get through to someone.
"Hello? This is Chief Hopper. Please send help. Or get Joyce Byers." He begged, tears beginning to form in his eyes. That's how he felt asleep, with Will's walkie still in his hand
