Kenzie's P•O•V
Tonight makes four days before the wedding. I won't lie, I'm sad that I can't have the bachelorette party of my dreams. I wanted a throw a massive party, but I decided against it. Tonight Lacie and I are going out for some drinks. It's just the two of us, if Molly try's anything there won't be too many people to worry about protecting.I'm tired of having to air on the side of caution. My only wish is that Molly would just disappear; I just want her to let me be happy. I'm sick of feeling like I'm centering my life around her madness. I turned from facing the window, and looked towards Lacie. We've been driving for what feels like hours. "Where is this club? Are we lost?"
She remained silent for a moment. "I'm going to be honest, I wrote the directions for the club down on paper and left it at home. I've been driving around hoping I spot a club that matches the picture in my head."
I gasped. "Lacie! Why didn't you say something?" I glanced down at my phone to see that we've been driving for about three hours. I don't want to be rude, but I think I'm ready to call it a night. "We've been driving for three hours. My ass is tired of sitting in the car at this point. Can we please just go home."
She looked down. "I'm sorry, Ken. I fucked up, I'll take you home."
Im a little disappointed. Im not having a bachelorette party, and now the little thing I had planned has flopped. It's saddening. Lacie rerouted the car to take us back to my home.
The two of us approached my front door. I pushed the key inside and unlocked it for us. I pushed the door open to complete darkness. I was about to make my way towards the light switch when the lights turned on. I adjusted my eyes to the sudden light. When I looked forward I saw the house is full of people. My jaw hung as I stood in shock.
Lacie came rushing inside the house behind me. "SURPRISE!!"
I could cry. I see all of our friends are here. I turned towards Lacie with a joy filled smile. "You tricked me!"
She laughed. "I did! For a second I thought I wouldn't be able to keep up the lie!"
I see a group of my college friends. Eva, Dakota, Cece, Darianna, Imani. They're all dressed in black outfits. I greeted all of them and looked at their outfits.
Dakota seemed to sense my confusion. "The theme of your bachelorette party is: R.I.P Johns. As we celebrate your new life well look back on your old one, and put your old last name to rest." She's wearing the all black. I'm the only one in white. They really planned everything so sneakily.
I had no idea they had this planned. I've been meaning to get us all together again. "I don't want to be a sappy, but I'm happy to see you guys."
Cece reached into a bag and pulled out a wedding veil. "This is to go with your white dress."
Lacie stepped forward. "Alright, ladies. We're starting this night with a drink making contest. In the Kitchen we've set up space for our contest to commence. The person with the worst drink wears the penis sunglasses!!" She help up a bright pink sparkly penis sunglasses.
I love a good competition. "Let's go!" I dashed towards the kitchen. I can see Imani approaching me from the corner of my eye, Lacie came dashing behind us. "Don't start until everyone's there!"
I laughed as I made it first to the kitchen. The island has different bottles of alcohol in the middle, there are seven trays around the bottles, each tray has enough glasses for each of us. The rest of the group joined me around the island.
We all waited for Lacie to explain her set up. "We all have ten minutes to come up with a drink. I say ten, because I want to see creativity!! Take a tray and let's go!"
