Kenzie's P•O•V
My heart began to race faster as I got a notification with his reply.

Theo:God😫😍.

Me: I'm hot and bothered. Now so are you😏

Theo: You'll regret this.

My smirk left my face as I frowned. What could he possibly have in mind. This is just making me even more excited to get home. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard my office phone ring. I picked up and put it on speaker. "Yes Tessa?" I said questionably. "Mr. Don is on the other line. Something important that he has to share with you," she explained. "Send him through," I said.

I straightened my posture and braces myself to hear the worst. "Mr.Don, what's wrong?" I asked. I typed on my keyboard and pulled up his case. As I waited for him to answer I grabbed the paper form of his case. "I withheld important information for the case. It's true all what they're saying. I have been stealing company money and shipping them to an account in Cuba," he said. My jaw dropped.

"Why would you hold this information back?! At the beginning I told you in order to win you've got to tell me everything. I'm your lawyer," I said sternly. "Look....What's done is done, okay. Just tell me that.." he stopped and drew in a deep breath. "Just tell me I haven't thrown away my chances at winning the case," he finished. He sounds defeated. He and I both know that here's a slim chance in hell that I'll be able to save him.

"No." I lied. "Come in today. Within the hour and I'll discuss where it is we'll be going from here," I said. "Sure. I'll be right in," he said. I hung up the phone and ran my fingers through my hair. Looks like I'll be working late tonight. Business before pleasure I guess.

I called Tessa on the phone. "Tessa, Mr.Don is coming in. Send him right up as soon as he arrives," I instructed. "Of course," she replied. I took my finger off the button cutting myself off from Tessa's line. I opened his case file and looked over it. Everything in this file is a lie. None of my notes or statements gathered will help me.

Mr.Don arrived 25 minutes later. He sat down in front of my desk with a concerned look on his face. He looks tired meaning he's been up doing a lot of thinking about this. "What's next from here?" He asked addressing the elephant in the room. "We go over everything you've said to me since day one," I said as I placed a paper on the desk.

"Sandra,  the security guard never saw you leave the building late, or enter when it was empty. Is that the truth? Did you ever go into the building when everyone was gone?" I asked. He shook his head confirming my fears. I swallowed hard and kept a strong look on my face. "How'd you get her to give this fake statement?" I asked.

"It was easy. Sandra's daughter is sick and dying in the hospital with leukemia. I told her that if she helped me and made sure I got away with this. That I'd pay for all her daughters medical expenses. And if shit got worse I'd handle the funeral costs," he said smugly. I forced back a look of disgust. This jobs shows what people will do just to cover their own ass.

"How much money did you send to the accounts in Cuba?" I asked. "I've worked for the company for over 15 years. Over all the years I've stolen about 10 million dollars," he answered. "How'd you pull that off? Stealing all of that from the company would've nailed you a long time ago," I said. "Six different people. John from accounting, Shone from checking, Hannah my coworker, myself, Mike another coworker, and Kayla another accountant. With two accountants working to make sure the money goes unnoticed it's simple," he explained.
