GEORGE POV:
It's been a month since he asked Rosie out. They had seen each other a few times in the past few weeks, but they were both so busy that the date still hasn't happened. They had managed to have some hours together a few times when Rosie was in between meetings while she was in the neighbourhood. They had lunch together, or just chatted and played with Luna until she had to go again. It warmed his heart that she really put that much effort into seeing him and his daughter. She'd give him a soft kiss on his cheek when she arrived and when she left, and it made him blush and stutter every time. He had never been this way with women, having a child and therefore becoming more vulnerable really changed him. Maybe it also had to do with the fact that he had never met someone as amazing and caring as Rosie, apart from his own mom.
He was very busy himself as well, finishing the race weekends in Russia and Turkey, both races were tough, but he managed to get good results for the team. He was in a tight battle with his off-track friends Lando and Charles, and it was exciting for him. Japan was this weekend, and he couldn't wait to get in the car again. Rosie was taking care of Luna for this weekend, and he was waiting for her to arrive. He has all his bags in the car already and he cleaned his entire place, just like last time. He was nervous to see her, but a little less nervous than last time. He couldn't wait to take Rosie out on a real date, and maybe he would be a little less awkward around her after that.
He is shaken from his thoughts when the bell rings, and Luna excitedly brabbles when George rushes to the door. "Hi!" a smiling Rosie waits for him on the other side with her bags in her hands. He steps aside to let her in, and she looks at him after she put her bags down. He blushes while her eyes travel over his outfit, he's wearing a pair of black joggers and a white t-shirt above it. Nothing fancy, but he's going to be sitting in a plane for quite a few hours, so he decided to cut himself some slack and go for comfy. "I like seeing you dressed down like this" she says before her soft hand grabs his hand. She squeezes it before pressing a kiss on his cheek, incredibly close to his mouth, and he gasps. She smiles mischievously before walking towards the living room. "There's my favourite bijou! Hello my little girl, how are we doing? Are you excited to spend time with me?" he hears Rosie coo to Luna, and he smiles while pressing his hand on his beating heart. 'I need to make a bloody move, and very soon.' He thinks to himself, before joining the girls in the living.
"Okay, so you still know where everything is, right?" he asks, and Rosie nods while holding Luna close to her. "So, Japan is 8 hours ahead of British time, would it be alright to facetime every day around 12PM for you? It's 8PM for me then, just after dinner time. I'd love to see Luna everyday..." he fiddles with his fingers but relaxes when Rosie smiles. "Obviously that's alright! I'll make sure we're able to facetime around 12PM every day, regardless of where we are. You can always call me anyways, just so you know. If you're worried or stressed or just need to chat... I'm here for you" she says the last part softly, and he smiles. "Thank you, I really appreciate you saying that." He walks towards the couch and pulls the black sweater he grabbed earlier, over his head. He walks towards the hallway to put on his shoes and coat before turning to Rosie and Luna.
Rosie hands Luna to him, and he wraps his little girl in his arms, pressing kisses to her head. "Daddy's going to miss you sweetie, I'm going to make you proud though. Be good to Rosie, please. I'll be back before you know it to tuck you in," he hums before looking at Luna's squishy face, "I love you so much." Her face lights up, and she puts her hands on his face and presses a messy kiss on it. He chuckles before kissing her and handing her back to Rosie. Rosie strokes Luna's hair while she's babbling incoherent words, and Rosie is humming and nodding as if she can understand her. "Do you have everything babe?" she asks George, before realising what she said. "I mean, do you have everything, George." He smiles at the blush that has appeared on her face, and he nods. "Yeah, I do, could use a good luck kiss though" he says, before looking at Rosie wide eyed. 'Where on earth came that from?' he thinks to himself while blushing furiously. "I-I mean, I, you don't ha-" he's cut off when her soft lips meet his. "Good luck this weekend, I know you can do it." She says softly.
