GEORGE POV:
George woke up early, and is sitting downstairs in Rosie's reading chair, looking around the decorated living room. It's November again. The past few months after Silverstone have flown by, and it's Luna's birthday today. He can't believe his once so small baby daughter is so big now, walking around the house without help by and talking in small sentences. It's adorable to hear her repeat words, and Rosie spends a lot of time trying to teach her all sorts of things. Luna has been calling her mommy since the first time she tried the word, and that was one of the sweetest moments that they shared as a family.
"Daddy!" George steps out of bed, checking the alarm clock to see that it's only 6:30. He shuffles towards Luna's bedroom, opening the door as silently as possible before walking towards his daughter. "Hey darling, what's wrong? Are you not tired anymore?" he asks, caressing her hair before picking her up. She brabbles something while he walks downstairs, setting her down to play while he starts making breakfast. It doesn't take long before he hears Rosie rummaging around upstairs before she makes her way down the stairs. "Hey why are you aw-" she starts but stops when Luna squeals "mommy!" while making grabby hands towards Rosie. George looks up, smiling when Rosie looks at Luna with her hand on her mouth while the tears form in her eyes. "Mommy" Luna says again, crawling towards her. Rosie picks her up, kissing her face before saying "good morning my girl."
George looks up when the door opens, and he smiles when it's Rosie who walks into the room. "Hey babe, are you okay? I woke up to an empty bed" she says, pouting while walking towards him. He shifts a little in the chair, spreading his legs before opening his arms. "Come here love" he mumbles, smiling when he sees that she's wearing his hoodie with a pair of loose pants. She hums, sitting on his lap before burying her face in his chest. "I just woke up and couldn't sleep anymore, figured I'd go downstairs to decorate the room" he says softly, kissing her hair. "It looks really pretty, I bet Luna will love it." Rosie says, stroking his jaw before continuing. "I told everyone to come around 3PM, that way we can have the morning and start of the afternoon together and she can take a quick nap before our families and friends come" she says and George nods before answering, "yeah, that's good. I wanted to make those pancakes that she likes so much for breakfast."
They stay seated together for a little while longer, chatting about little things while enjoying the moment together. George hums while Rosie draws imaginary figures on his arm while she leans against his shoulder. "I can't believe she's two years old already" he says, looking outside before turning his attention to Rosie when she speaks up. "Me neither, it's so weird that she's still so small, but on the other hand growing so fast and really developing her own personality. She's not a baby anymore now." He hums, "I will kind of miss the baby phase if I'm honest. She was so tiny, it's strange that I won't ever hold her small body like that again. She's only getting heavier now." Rosie chuckles, kissing his jaw before sitting up a little to look him in the eyes. "Who knows, maybe you'll hold anot-" she stops while turning around a little, looking at George with a smile, "she's awake, go get our birthday girl!"
George walks upstairs, holding Rosie's hand after telling her that she's her daughter too and that Luna would love it if they both get her out of bed. He stops in front of Luna's room, smiling when he hears her 'sing' a song from her favourite tv-show. Rosie stands next to him, squeezing his hand before they both walk into Luna's room, singing happy birthday to her. Luna claps her hands excitedly when she sees both of them entering the room, "daddy! Mommy!" she exclaims, gripping the edges of her crib to stand up. "Good morning birthday girl" George says, lifting her from the crib to press her against his chest, kissing her face while she giggles. He pulls Rosie into the embrace, who immediately kisses Luna's face while telling her happy birthday. "You know what we're eating for breakfast?" George asks, looking down at Luna who thinks about the sentence. "Paccakes!" she says, squealing when George nods his head.
