My head throbbed in pain as I watched Jaehyun walked Mr. Yeo and the other officer out of the house. I was just dealing with the fact that Jaehyun was Taeyong's step-brother. And now another problem pops out like an unwanted pimple. After noting the time on my phone, I stood up from the dining table and climbed upstairs.
Slowly, I opened Jaehyun's bedroom door and checked if Obok was already sleeping. He was slumped on his dog bed, all four cute little feet up in the air as if he doesn't have a care in the world. With a small smile, I walked inside and closed the door behind me as softly as I could. Then, I walked towards the window and watched Jaehyun and Mr. Yeo while they made small talks.
Opening my phone, I pulled out my dial pad and pressed in a few numbers before bringing it on my ear. "Yes, sir?" asked my father's head of security after two rings.
"I want you to check the background of Yeo Jin Goo. He is a criminal profiler," I ordered. My toneless voice echoing in the empty room.
"Got it," was the short reply on the other end.
"Any news about Jaehyun's accident?"
"Same as the police report. I believe they visited you?"
"Yeah, and I don't like it one bit. I hate surprise house visits," I replied as my eyes followed Jaehyun as he closed the gate and walked back towards the house. "Find out anything you have about Junseok's death. If Jaehyun's name is involved, report it to me right away," I added.
"Will do so, and..."
"And?" I asked in impatience.
"Your father said that if you are serious with your boyfriend then he should meet him,"
"Tell him, he will. We'll visit the house soon," I replied and hanged up my phone when I saw Jaehyun was standing outside, looking straight at me. I remembered our conversation this afternoon with the police. Jaehyun's tone was a bit off when he learned that I didn't tell him about the conversation I had with the police during my quick visit. I guess I forgot about it because of what happened afterward. But I had plenty of time to tell him about it when we moved into his house a few days after. It's just I decided not to tell him, I thought it was better that way. The less he knew of my past, the less he would drift away from me. But I was proven wrong time and time again. And it's all because of Junseok's death and that nosy Mr. Yeo.
I clenched my fist and plastered a small smile on my face before waving at Jaehyun and beckoning him to come inside. The half-truths that we tell the people we care about just so we can avoid them from getting hurt. Because the past is better left behind.
"Do you want to have a late snack?" Jaehyun asked me as soon as I stepped out of the shower. I walked towards the bed with only a boxer on and flopped down beside him.
